Going down right now in Iowa

Newt is wondering where his support and his boner went.

Ron Paul is attending a KKK rally and demanding to know why you're calling him a racist.

I'm on the hustings drumming up support for the Monkey Party.

Michele Bachmann is praying her husband isn't gay.

Herman Cain is delivering 'the pizza.'

Rick Perry has finally learned to lick it before he sticks it.

Mitt is slowly turning into John McCain.

Rick Santorum and Jon Huntsman were spotted making out in a Motel 6 outside of Des Moines.

I just sent this letter to my idiot teabagger Congressman

"I respectfully request that you support raising taxes on the wealthiest citizens in this country so that we can get the economy moving again. Study after study has shown that raising taxes jump starts the economy and that cutting deficits in a recession hurts the economy. So I request that you vote to raise taxes to get America moving again and if you don't that you resign your office ASAP."

However I have my doubts if he'll do what I ask.

What they were really thinking during the Republican debate the other night

"If people don't like my position on an issue they can wait a few weeks and I'll change it."

"I'm not gay and I'll kill someone with my bare hands to prove it."

"Why do so many people like to ignore me?"

"Golly gee, I wish the Federal Reserve would stop stalking me. And I have to poop."

"I'm still running for president and boy am I horny. I wonder if that woman in the third row fourth seat over would let me jerk off on her..."

"I'd like to fuck a tax cut senseless. Wait. Did I say that out loud? If I did I didn't mean to because by tax cut, I meant a dude's bottom."

"Jesus loves me best. And I bet Ron Paul has to poop."

Your move Eric Cantor

Republican Rep. Eric Cantor wants budget cuts to offset any money that's put aside for tornado victims, so here's a list of things we can cut to pay for the damage in Joplin, in Alabama, here in east TN, and in New England:
  • cut all aid to Israel. Israel is doing fine, they don't need money from us anymore.
  • cut all aid to Germany, Japan, Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia.
  • cut the defense budget in half. If we spend half of what we do now we'd still out spend any country on earth by far.
  • cut all farm subsidies. We don't need to pay people to grow more corn when we've got a glut of it already and we sure as hell don't need to pay people to not grow crops.
  • cut all corporate welfare. If we closed tax loopholes corporations use to get out of paying their fair share of taxes then we'd have plenty of money to pay for disasters.
There you go Mr. Cantor. Pick any one or more of those things and that should give us plenty of money to work with to help tornado victims. If you don't use my suggestions then you're just a craven coward who is grandstanding for the sake of teabaggers.

Home grown idiot

Meet the Lt. Governor of the state of Tennessee:
He's a pinched faced prudish looking guy isn't he? Of course he is, he's an east Tennessee Republican after all. And he wants to be the next governor of our fine state so he can give Washington the boot from our lives. He still wants all that federal money that pours into our state, he just doesn't want any negro President and Congress led by a woman telling him what to do with it.

He's currently in third place in the race to become his party's nominee. But he may have found his break out issue. In order to solidify his place in the hearts and minds of the Bible thumpers and teabaggers in this state, he's decided that Islam may not be a religion after all, he says it's a cult, and therefore it may not protected under the first amendment.

Now, if he were standing here next to me, which is very doubtful since I don't in real life associate with people as stupid as he is, I'd remind him that his religion, Christianity, started out as a cult and got lucky when it became the dominant religion the world over. I'd also like to remind him that just because his is the dominant religion, it's not the only religion and that freedom of religion extends to all religions, even those you don't follow or agree with.

I throw up in my mouth a little every time I hear him speak, see his smug idiotic face on a billboard, and see a bumpersticker with his name on it. He's a classic bigot who made good at the expense of others and who now wants to deny others the rights he holds dear. When he loses the primary next week, or whenever the hell it is, I'm going to call his office in Nashville, his local office, and the office of his auction business and I'm going to laugh at him for being such a dumb ass and for wasting all that money on his gubernatorial run.

It's idiots like him who give this area a bad name.

Forgive me my lack of outrage

I'm sorry but you'll have to forgive me my lack of outrage over that idiot Congressman from South Carolina. He represents the best the Republicans can muster on the health care debate. He takes money from health care lobbyists and he doesn't want any Democratic party president, especially a black one, to have a legislative victory as big as this one might be so he's resorted to screaming and being rude.

You know what? We've seen nothing but this kind of thing from the right wingers, and from some on the left, I'm looking at you Rick Boucher and Heath Schuler, many times before in this debate. So really, Wilson was just saying what all the other people who want to deny our fellow citizens basic health insurance were thinking. He's a pompous ass, who gets his facts wrong and who wants nothing more than to retain the status quo so he can rake in campaign dollars from big pharma and big health insurance companies.

So meh, I'll refrain from getting outraged over that boorish corporate tool's disrespect for the presidency and I'll save my outrage for what he and his party did to these Wilsons:

Outing a covert CIA agent to cover your party's ass during the prosecution of a unpopular and ultimately illegal and useless war is much more outrageous than trying to shout down the President during a speech to a joint session of Congress. But hey, stay classy Rep. Wilson, you're the best your party has to offer in the health care debate.

Traitor Joe strikes again

Lieberman now says that there is no need for health insurance reform until we're out of the recession that he helped bring about. That kind of bullshit sounds to me like the idiots in the NRA who crow after every school shooting that, "Now is not the time to talk about gun control."

This just in...

John McCain has suspended his presidential campaign once again. He says he'll keep it suspended until President Obama drops the public option or until he gets a bottle of bourbon to mix with his Ensure. Stay tuned for more details on this developing story...

No go

It would be nice if President Obama could get people like Sen. Grassley, seen here inviting Capitol Hill visitors to sniff the end of his cane after his date last night,
and Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-Crazytown), seen here giving a speech on the floor of the House,
on board with health care reform but it's no use. The Republican party has been against every social program that has ever come up, they opposed Medicare, they opposed Social Security, they opposed all the New Deal programs, they opposed workplace safety rules, they opposed Workmen's Comp. legislation, they opposed labor unions, and they opposed child labor laws. So in short Republicans if there has been a law passed and a program created that helps a great number of people, then the Republicans have opposed it.

So it's time to cut them loose and do the right thing on health care. It's time to go even further than the President wants, it's time to go even further then the current bill in the House of Reps wants to go, it's time to go the single payer national health insurance for all route. And if we don't get it, then we need to find ways to bleed the system dry and to bankrupt it until we get what we want.

They've got 6 lobbyists for every member of Congress on their side. They've got billions of dollars to spend to keep the current corrupt system in place. All you and me have is each other. The deck and the odds are stacked against us, but I still think we can pull this thing off.

Monday, August 3, 2009

As long as the needs of the few are met, then the Republicans are happy

"If the Democrats don’t get health care, and the jobless rate is above 10 percent, it could be a big election for Republicans next year,” predicted consultant John Feehery, who was a top aide to then-House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill."

You read that right, Republicans want people to go without health insurance, to die, and to lose their jobs and stay unemployed just so that they can take back Congress next year.

Mind boggling isn't it?

Finally!

The Minnesota Supreme Court finally declared Al Franken the winner of his US Senate race! It's now time for the weaselly Republican Governor of that fine state to sign the election certificate so Franken can take his place in the now filibuster proof Senate majority!

So join me, angry devil baby,

and Che Guevara's super hot granddaughter
in congratulating Senator Al Franken (D) Minnesota on his massive legal victory today!

Next up for you Minnesotans, if you don't freeze to death in your hellishly long winter that is, is to dump that bat shit crazy Michelle Bachman. That crazy woman taints your entire state with her idiocy, just like Sally Kern does to Oklahoma.

Yes, please

Hey Republicants, please keep listening to this angry little man: Please keep him out in front of your party and please let him keep telling us that he thinks we ought to keep torturing like they did during the Bush/Cheney administration. Please. Pretty please. Don't move forward at all you Republicants. Please cling to the glory days of the Bush/Cheney years when everything went sour for your party.

Please keep listening and bowing down to Rush Limbaugh. He's just what your party needs. He's a grossly overweight drug addict who has no conception of what working people in this country have to face so he's the perfect angry white over taxed white man to lead your party.

Please tie yourselves to the tea baggers too. A small angry minority listening to a smaller angrier minority is also just the thing your party needs. You rich white folks and your house negro Michael Steele make a good match for treasonous sedition minded angry white men.

Don't ignore your evangelical base either or James Dobson and Pat Robertson might get their money lovin' gay hatin' Jesus to smite you.

And finally, by all means refer to the Democratic party as the Democrat Socialist Party of America. That name shows us all how ignorant and out of touch you and your party have become.

Please please, keep doing all those things. I'm begging you.

Sen Judd Gregg (R-NH)...

...proving once again that Republicans put party first and country second. Ol' Judd decided he'd like to obstruct more and help get us out of the mess of the Bush years less. Thanks for being a patriot Judd! I for one will never forget how you voted with Bush on the Patriot act, on the war, on taking civil liberties away from Americans, and how you helped make this country less safe. And I won't forget that all the while you were bashing big government, you were sucking at it's teat. Fuck you, you stinking old hypocrite.

I'm hoping like crazy that the people Like Judd Gregg keep following the dictates of Rush "The big fat drug addict" Limbo. If they do then pretty soon they'll follow him off the cliff and into oblivion.

Monday, February 9, 2009

Psssst, wanna know a secret?

Despite the fact that I am a hardcore liberal/progressive/socialist, it doesn't matter to me who is running the government as long as they do a good job at it.

And as we've seen in the past 8 years and in the 12 years before Clinton, modern conservatives don't do a good job of running things. How can they if their goal is to do away with government? Wealthy conservatives don't need government because they can pay to have the things government does done by private business. And in fact they hate government because it takes their money in the form of taxes. That's why when they get in power the first thing they want to do is to cut taxes on themselves, their benefactors, and the businesses they own.

It wasn't always that way with Republicans though and there have been some good Republican Presidents, although there has never ever been a Republican led Congress that did anything much good for all of the people of this country. Since the birth of the Republican party there have been two good Republican Presidents and they are:

Teddy Roosevelt
and Abe Lincoln.

Teddy was a great President because he saw the threat we faced as a nation from out of control corporations and he broke up some of the biggest of them while he was President. Unlike his modern Republican peers, he was committed to peace, at least while he was President, and his brokering of a peace deal between Japan and Russia won him a Nobel Peace prize. I'm not crazy about his love of shooting large animals for sport but hell, no one was perfect. It's important to note that Teddy left the Republican party and that he'd not be welcome in that party today is he tried to run for office due to his anti corporate views.

Abe Lincoln would not be welcome in the Republican party today either. His policy of working with people he disagreed with would not find a home in the 'our way or fuck off' Republican party of today. They would also have problems with him because he signed the Emancipation Proclamation, the modern Republican party is perhaps the most racist institution around, and yes that's true even though they elected a token black man to be their leader, he's the exception that proves the rule.

If there was a Republican who was the same caliber of man that Teddy and Abe was I'd have no qualms or reservations about voting for one for President. Unfortunately the best they can offer is the drunken failure George W. Bush, the Mormon flip flopping hair do Mitt Romney, and the doddering old John McCain who would do and say anything to get elected because he felt like he was entitled to the office after all the years of his and his family's military service. It's said that the party of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt can only produce leaders who want to serve only themselves and their pals in big business and not the rest of us.

Do it

For 8 years the foxes guarded the hen houses in Washington DC. The Bush/Cheney administration put their buds in big business in charge at the top of the Departments of the Interior, Labor, Justice, the EPA, and the FDA and as a result the rights of workers were gutted in favor of making sure big business made more profits and paid less taxes, our environment was raped and plundered, the Justice department became a place where the laws were only enforced if they benefited rich white people, and inspection and regulation of our nation's food and drug supply was ignored. Because of all that people died, are still dying (peanut butter sandwich anyone?), and our country and planet are in deep peril.

But fixing that stuff is not a priority with some in the Senate because they've got bigger fish to fry. They've got to stop the stimulus package because it might actually help people who don't give them any money for their re-election. They made damn sure the banks and Wall Street investment houses got bailed out and they did it willingly because they get a shit load of money from those people, but people who work in education, construction, retail, who write computer code, who get up before dawn and punch a time clock when they get to work don't give them a cent so our "esteemed" Senators, including the two douchebags who "represent" us folks in Tennessee, don't want to see them get any help. It's strictly pay for play with the cabal of Republicans in the Senate. If you give them money to get re-elected, they'll vote to give you bail out money, if you don't, then you're fucked. Witness them cutting spending on programs that will create jobs just as they scream about more tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy. I'm still waiting on the last round of tax cuts on corporations to help me out.

But holding up the stimulus isn't the only thing the Republicans are doing, they're also holding up the nomination of Hilda Solis. She's been nominated to head the Department of Labor and since she's not a whore for big business, she is in fact a friend of organized labor, the Republicans are nervous and they want to derail her nomination. They can't seem to wrap their greedy bloated heads around the idea of a woman who is a friend of the working man heading up the Department of Labor. I'm sure they're frightened that she might actually do things that benefit the working people of this country while she's in charge. They're shaking their boots knowing that someone who wants to halt the slide that the American workers have been on since Reagan was President will be in charge for a change.

As I've said before, the Republicans in the House and Senate, and some Democrats as well, I'm looking at you Diane Feinstein and Jay Rockefeller and Chuck Schumer, drove us to this cliff that we find ourselves on. We sure as hell don't need to let them drive us off it so let's hope cooler heads prevail and that the stimulus package gets passed along and that they get off their asses and make Hilda Solis the head of the Department of Labor.

Stimulate who?

Oh wow.

Did you see it?

Did you hear it?

It's out there and it's huge! No, I'm not talking about Jessica Simpson's ass, which is only now beginning to look somewhere near fine if you ask me, I'm talking about the Senate Republican's answer to President Obama's stimulus package.

Predictably it full of the one thing that all Republicans love, no, it's not full of hookers, it's full of tax cuts for the wealthy and for corporations. Crazy huh. They want to cut taxes on themselves and the corporations who they are beholden to, it's their way of stimulating their own economy. The rest of us can go to hell as far as they are concerned. Let's look at the cold hard facts:
  • If a bridge gets built in your community the whole community benefits. The construction company hires people in your area to build it. Those people spend their paychecks in your community, thereby benefiting local business. Your state or city gets either sales tax or income tax off the money paid to the workers and your state and city provide all kinds of services to you with that tax revenue.
  • When the taxes of rich white people get cut they pocket the money they are going to save that would have gone to pay taxes. Your community doesn't benefit from it. Only the persons whose taxes got cut benefit. And maybe a big bank or Wall Street investment house benefits too. But that's it.

President Obama's stimulus plan has millions for such things as Pell grants which will help kids in your area go to college, public health initiatives which will employ people and benefit your community in the long run, infrastructure repairs, and many other beneficial projects. All of these projects will produce real tangible economic benefits almost immediately in your community. The stimulus package offered by the obscenely wealthy Senate Republicans will have no economic effects on your community whatsoever, unless you live inside a Wall Street bank that is. Heck, I'm still waiting for the economic effects of the Bush tax cuts to kick in and the Reagan tax cuts as well.

My fellow citizens, we should be fed up with watching the rich and powerful in our government take care of only the rich and powerful in the business world. It's time that all the bastards in Washington DC started doing what's right for the vast majority of us and stop doing the bidding of Rush Limbo, ExxonMobil, and IBM. I'd like to say that I hope that the Senate Republican passes so that when our economy tanks even further and they propose more tax cuts to fix it I could point and laugh, but I'm not. I'm not an asshole like a certain fat blowhard drug addict is, so I'm hoping that the Republican plan fails so that the President's plan, which will benefit all Americans in the long run, can pass and succeed.

Snow Daze

The snow flakes are falling faster here than Republicant Jim Boner's tears. Happy Groundhog Day everybody!

Sunday, February 1, 2009

Hahahahahaha

Hahahahaha.

Excuse me I need to catch my breath because I'm laughing really hard. And loudly as well. Hahahahahahaha.

What's that? What's so funny? Well, it seems that all the ad revenue is drying up for the right wing group called Pajamas Media.

And they are blaming it on the left! Hahahahahahahaha. Seriously hahahahahahahahahahaha. And they also claim that the left wing blogs, like mine, stay afloat because of the largess of George Soros and Moveon.org. Hahahahahahahahaha, how funny and paranoid is that? I don't take ads because I don't blog to make money, I blog because I like to write and to make people think and laugh. I never met George Soros and I certainly never took a dime from him. Even though they do some good things, Moveon.org annoys the shit out of me and I don't take any orders from them. I'm an ad free totally independent blogger with ad free totally independent content.

The reason the ad revenue on the right wing blogs sponsored by Pajamas Media is dropping so much is because no one wants to read right wing blogs anymore. The right has failed to keep pace on the net, just as they failed in their efforts to impose their twisted brand of rule on the USA. There will never ever be a permanent Republican majority in Congress or on the net. People have seen through the lies of the right and Pajamas Media is failing because conservatism has failed. Rush and the boobs at FOX Noise can scream all they like but America has moved on.

Friday, January 30, 2009

My advice, Mr. President, is to:

Stop.

Stop trying to work with the Congressional Republicans on the stimulus package. Their leader Rush Limbo has already given his party members their marching orders and those orders are to make sure you fail. They voted en masse against your package even after you put things in it to appease them. They have shown that they have no interest in working with you, moving our economy and our country forward, or doing what's best for the highest amount of people so my advice to you is to stop placating them and move on.

********
Also sir, stop with the tax cut nonsense. Tax cuts never work and they do not stimulate anything. They take money out of the federal treasury at a time when we need all the cash we can get. If I were you, instead of cutting taxes, I'd raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans and on big American corporations who are sending jobs over seas.

********
We, liberals and progressives, won the past two elections so let's grow a pair and start governing with our interests in mind instead of the conservatives. They had their chance and they failed because conservatism doesn't work for the vast majority of the people in this country, but progressivism damn sure does and it's our country's last best hope of returning to greatness after the debacle of the Bush years.

********
Please get on with the business of being a progressive President and let's bring an end to the war of terror on Iraq, get health care or at least Medicare for all Americans, let's rebuild our infrastructure, and let's stop asking for help from the people who got us into this mess in the first place. Tax cutters, deregulators, and the greed of big business got us into this mess and only a big juicy Presidential stimulus package can get us out of it.

********
We're counting on you big guy, don't let us down.

My new Congressman not only hates women...

...he hates kids too! He voted against expanding SCHIP yesterday. Congressman Roe, seen here getting ready to cast another ballot against the working people of our Congressional district,
is a disgrace to his office and he's yet another in a long line of Republicans who feed at the federal government trough but don't want anyone else to share in that meal. It's time I wrote him an email demanding he resign, maybe if I'm lucky someone will read it to him.
