Oh how the worm has turned

So it turns out that after a four month investigation into ACORN, in the aftermath of the right wing corruption scam, by the authorities in Brooklyn has ended. And the folks in the Brooklyn DA's office say that the good folks at ACORN did nothing wrong and that the tape that the videotape that caused the furor in the first place was heavily edited to show what the right wingers wanted it to show.

Shocking huh.

Keep this in mind, when ever you hear a right winger complain about corruption, it was caused by them in the first place. When you hear them complain about voter fraud, what they are complaining about if there are too many brown, black, yellow, and red skinned people voting for their tastes.

I wonder if Bush McCain will now retract his infamous statement that ACORN was most serious threat to our nation, surpassed only by terrorism. I wonder if Beck, Bill O, Mike Malkin, and the rest will now admit they were wrong about ACORN and that their man faked his little story. Oh wait, I forgot that being a right wing politician and pundit means never admitting you're wrong, even after you've been caught in a lie.

Don't be stupid

Every time I hear that braying jack ass Hannity and that idiot Inhofe from Oklahoma say that cold temps and snow mean that global warming is a hoax I think of this story:

One day a devout Christian minister falls off a boat out in the middle of the ocean. As he bobs up and down in the waves while wearing his life vest he prays to his god to come rescue him. Not long after his first prayer a boat shows up and they offer to pick him up and he declines, saying, "God himself is going to pluck me from the water." The boat leaves and the minister prays harder. An hour later a helicopter shows up and offers to pick him up. He declines saying, "The Lord is going to save me." The helicopter flies away. The next day a cruise ship comes by and offers to pick him up and he declines saying, "My heavenly father will not let me drown. He'll pick me up out of these waters when he is ready." The cruise ship sails away so the minister prays even harder. He prays aloud, "Oh Lord, I have been your faithful servant all my life, why do you not save me? Why do you not pluck me from this ocean?" Just then the sky opens up and in a booming voice his god says, "Hey moron, I sent two boats and a helicopter to save you but you sent them away. You're on your own now dumb ass."

Tom Daschle is...

...a giant puss filled douchebag. He wants the public option dropped from the health care over haul. National health insurance is too important to let douchebags like Tom Daschle, who took millions from health care related companies while he was a lobbyist by the way, run it. Oust all the bastards, the douchebags, the lobyists, the asswipes from the AMA, and lets make them give us singlepayer national health insurance for all Americans, not just Congressmen, their staffs, and the obscenely wealthy.

Harold Ford Jr is a turd in the Democratic party's punch bowl

Harold Ford Jr, seen here relaxing after a long day of sucking up to corporate America, thinks torture is fine and dandy!

I will never ever vote for him ever again. In fact, I'll campaign against him if he ever runs for the Senate in Tennessee again.

He spouts Republican talking points all the time and he's more pro-corporate America than the average conservative here in east Tennesee is. I'm glad he lost his US Senate race in 2006. Go away Uncle Tom, go the hell away.

My new Congressman not only hates women...

...he hates kids too! He voted against expanding SCHIP yesterday. Congressman Roe, seen here getting ready to cast another ballot against the working people of our Congressional district,
is a disgrace to his office and he's yet another in a long line of Republicans who feed at the federal government trough but don't want anyone else to share in that meal. It's time I wrote him an email demanding he resign, maybe if I'm lucky someone will read it to him.

The pleasure principle

As partisan as I am you may be shocked to learn that I take little pleasure in seeing elected officials of the conservative Republican variety indicted for on corruption charges. See, I, probably naively so, think that if you are elected to the one of the highest legislative bodies in this country then you should be above using your office for criminal personal gain for yourself and for your buddies. I want to believe that even though I disagree with all Republicans, and these days most Democrats, in Congress, especially in the Senate, that they have some of our country's best interests at heart and that they can control themselves from plundering and helping other plunder at our national money teats.

Sadly some can't.

Sadly, once elected to the House or to the Senate they feel that they are above the law and unaccountable to the people who elected them. Sadly, they feel only accountable to the monied interests who fund their perpetual campaigns.

To see Congressmen and Senators get indicted or to leave office under a cloud of suspicion, no matter what party they are in makes me profoundly said. I'm not saying I'm sad to see them go, oh hell no, on the contrary, I'm glad to see them go. What makes me sad is that they used their office, their power, their influence to enrich themselves and their pals at our expense. Democrats as well as Republicans are guilty of it. Jim Wright of Texas was a crook who broke the rules for his benefit, Dan Rostenkowski was too. On the other side of the aisle Newt Gingrich had to resign in disgrace because of his financial dealings. It affects members of both parties.

Now, the kind of political scandal that I take great pleasure in is the kind where conservative Republican "pro family," European Jesus lovin', gay and adultery hatin' (in public anyway) politicians get caught trying to pick up dudes in bathrooms

or using hookers for sexual stuff their wives won't do or hittin' on 16 year old boys. I hate Congressional hypocrisy as much as I hate Congressional white collar crime, one makes me laugh and shake my head, the other makes me sad and mad. And unfortunately for me and the rest of the country, Washington DC is permeated with both kinds of bad behavior. On both sides of the aisle.

A nation of whiners whines some more

Bush McCain's campaign whined that bloggers and others outside of the corporate media have the gall to point out their boss's flip flops on all the issues.

Rich white people whined about the amount of taxes they have to pay. They also whined that they can't find any more undocumented Mexicans to work for slave wages.

"People aren't listening to me like they used to. Too many people are reading blogs and ignoring us, their betters, in the corporate media, " whined George Will.

Rupert Murdoch whined loudly about not being allowed to control all the media in the world. Then he whined when his wife was caught boinking the Mexican gardener.

Leonid Brezhnev whined about being dead.

These two slimy political opportunists whined that they may be cut out of the halls of power after the next election. The wife whined when she found out her party's attempts at voter suppression may not work and her husband has never stopped whining about all the Democrats who voted against his candidate in the primaries.

Dick Cheney whined that Americans still have too much freedom and too much free time. He wants all of us to live in fear so that he and his pals in corporate America can take away more of our civil liberties and make us all work more than we do now. He's also been whining about the amount of money oil companies and war profiteers are making, he claims they are not making enough.

Bipartisan

It's touching when people who have worked for both Bush Jr and Hillary can finally come together and work for our corporate overlords. This is the kind of bipartisan bullshit that the corporate media and all the lobbyists in Washington DC love. When in actuality it shows how sick and corrupt our system is. I wish for nothing more than a pox on all their houses.

That gal's got a bigger pair than most men

Bush McCain economic advisor Carly Fiorina has grown quite the pair of balls lately. The woman who nearly ran Hewlett Packard into the ground is now claiming that Obama is the one running for Bush Jr's third term.

She is as arrogantly ignorant as the rest of her ilk in corporate America if she thinks we're going to believe her. Oh sure some dumb people will fall for her crap and of course the bitter harpies who continue to wail about Obama "stole" the nomination from Hillary will carry Fiorina's idiotic message forward, but all people who have two or three synapses firing correctly will see through her lie. The facts are:
  • Bush McCain voted 100% of the time with Bush Jr in 2008, Barack Obama not so much.
  • McCain's other surrogates claim, and rightly so, the Bush McCain will continue the policies of Bush Jr.
  • Bush McCain is on record as saying that he agrees with and supports Bush Jr on all the "important issues."
  • Carly Fiorina brought a cash rich and highly solvent company to it's knees with her lies and disastrous management style, just like Bush Jr has done to our country and just like Bush McCain will continue to do.

As we get closer to election day in November the Republicans will trot out more outrageous and outlandish lies and attacks. And you know if incompetent thugs like Fiorina are telling lies this big now, then imagine the whoppers they'll tell in the coming days. We're liable to hear things like, "That Obama is going to make us all get gay married in a mosque!" Or "McCain has always supported the rights of Americans to grow and smoke marijuana." Or, "Obama and Pelosi are going to give your Social Security money to them damn illegals."

Don't believe the hype and don't believe their lies.

Just when you think they can't get any worse...

Word is reaching us, mostly through Crook and Liars, that while these two geniuses are all for drilling for oil any where and every where their pals in the oil companies want to drill they are concerned about the effects of producing solar energy on federal lands. They are so concerned in fact that they have placed a moratorium on any solar power production on federally owned land in western states, which means that for two years no solar energy will be produced on lands out west that are owned by the feds. But during that time they'll be allowing their pals in big oil to drill off the coast, on most federal lands, and in your backyard if they want to.

I'm wondering if they hate solar power so much because Bush McCain has had so many bouts of melanoma or because it's a cheap form of energy that can't be controlled by big business. Hmmmmm, now that I think about it, I'll go with the second one.

The supply of all fossil fuels is finite, some day we will run out of them. That's a fact. As much as they want to believe that their god or his son is going to fly down and stick more oil and coal in the ground they are mistaken. We're using it up and one day it will all be gone.

But thank goodness that we have the sun and the wind. The sun will last us for about 4 or 5 billion more years and as long as the world keeps turning the wind will blow. From these two inexhaustible sources we can derive more than enough power to make us kick our addiction to messy dirty climate changing fossil fuels. Countries like Spain, Germany, and even Sweden derive a major portion of their power from the sun and the wind and the only thing stopping us from doing so is our lack of political.

We've let a few multi millionaires in big oil and big coal dictate our energy policy for years, especially the last 7 years, and what has made them rich has been a colossal fuck up for the rest of us. Pollution from big coal burning power plants kills people, mountain top removal coal mining kills our mountains and our land, all the gas and oil we burn up is causing our our planet to heat up which will, if we don't stop it soon, make our planet uninhabitable for humans. The reason we stay addicted to fossil fuels is because our government is owned by the corporations who benefit from us using gas, oil, and coal. And those same corporations own the media as well so they feed the sheep a constant stream of lies that tell them that anyone who wants to use solar and wind power are "kooks" who hate business and the USA.

If we broke our addiction to foreign oil and we produced more energy from solar and wind then we'd be far less exposed to terrorism and more Americans would benefit from all the jobs that the conversion to solar and wind energy would generate. Some jobs would be lost, many of those jobs would be white collar jobs in the oil and coal industry so really there'd be not much harm done there, but millions of other jobs would be created. And they'd be blue collar jobs that could not be outsourced, the kinds of jobs that helped build the middle class after the Depression.

They claim that solar energy is too expensive up front and that's why they haven't gone into it full bore yet. But when you figure in the true cost of the damage coal mining in all it's forms does to the planet and the damage that coal fired electric power plants do to the environment then the "high cost" of solar is not high at all. The savings from not having to treat respiratory illnesses due to air pollution from coal fired plants alone would off set the up front "high cost" of solar power.

They like to claim that wind turbines will kill all sorts of birds and insects and again their claims are nothing more than a smoke screen for their shortsightedness. Wind turbines that produce the kind of energy that's needed to power a good chunk of homes and businesses have huge blades. And these blades are big enough that most birds will instinctively fly around them. Will some birds fly into the blades? Yes, some birds will. But just like birds adapted to flying around buildings that were built in their migratory paths in the early days of the industrial revolution, birds of today and birds of the future will evolve to the point where they do not fly into the blades of wind turbines.

We've been talking about doing something about getting off oil and coal since I was in grade school in the late '60's and early '70's. It's time we stopped letting people in big business tell us that we can't shed our addiction to their products. It's time we stopped letting big business set an energy agenda that is killing us and our planet. And it's time we started to demand that government land be used to generate solar and wind power instead of being drilled on and mined to death.

Wide Stance and Diaper Boy strike again.

I wonder if Mark Foley will lobby them when they try to get this bill passed.

It's a damn good thing there's not a war going on and that our national economy isn't tanking and that all the our government's regulatory agencies that are supposed to be protecting us citizens are fully staffed and fully funded, because if all that shit was going well then introducing a bill to amend the Constitution just to please some right wing religious hate filled puss bag bigots would be election year pandering that once again shows how hollow Republican "values" are.

Here's Cindy Bush-McCain with a joke for you

I went to a bar the other night with some Republican ladywife friends and I ordered a whiskey sour with a side of prescription drugs. The bartender gave me my drink and pills and he said, "That'll be 1500 bucks." That's chump change to me so I paid him. He then said, "You know we don't often get presumptive nominee's wives in here buying drinks." So I said to him, "And at these prices you won't get many more!" Hahahahahahahaha.

My friends, isn't Cindy great? She's proud of her country 24/7, unlike me who finds it tough to be proud of my country at times. Thank you Cindy for financing my public career and for not telling people I call you a 'cunt,' oops, I mean thanks for telling that joke. If my campaign just keeps telling jokes then no one will notice that I flip flop on issues every day and that my economic advisers and myself are responsible for most of the economic mess we find ourselves in now.

Shut your mouth soldier boy, you promised me a drink and more pills if I told that joke, now pay up or I'll cut you off from my millions.

My friends, we've got to go. See you later!

Yes please

Please, please, please Sen. Bush McCain, please pick Greasy Giuliani to be your running mate.

If you do then we can expect exchanges like this one-

Bush McCain: My friends, I want to introduce my running mate, Greasy Giuliani.
Greasy Giuliani: 9/11 everybody!
BM: My friends that's all he says, and that why I picked him.
GG: I was picking on 9/11.
BM: I had a POW camp flashback on 9/11.
GG: I was a POW on 9/11.
BM: My friends, I was never a POW.
GG: I was never 9/11 but on 9/11 I 9/11ed.
BM: My friends, my opponent the uppity black boy who may or may not be a muslim but he sure is black, hello West Virginia and Kentucky and Alabama are you listening?, my opponent is a black man...Where the hell was I?
GG: 9/11. I know where I was on 9/11.
BM: I was resting on 9/11.
GG: People were arrested on 9/11.
BM: My friends I was never arrested, except for those times when I was.
GG: I arrested you on 9/11.
Bush McCain: And here we've come full circle, my life has done a complete 360 since I was arrested by law and order Greasy Giuliani on 9/11. I made it out of his POW camp alive and so here we stand before you ready to lead America in the 20th century. Vote for me!
Greasy Giuliani: Vote 9/11!

Must see TV

No, it's not on NBC anymore, it's on PBS on Friday nights.   Check out this interview and this one too and then you'll know why you're working harder for less and less.  Maybe if enough people see it and get pissed off about how we're being raped by corporations, lobbyists, Congress, and the complicit corporate media then we'll be ready to take some action against the bastards.

It's no wonder Bill O'Reilly hates Bill Moyers so much.  O'Reilly hates anyone who has the courage to stand up to the thugs in power by airing interviews like the ones I linked.

And when the towns people heard that the Senate Republicans had stopped the windfall profits tax on the big oil companies...

...they mounted their steeds because it was too expensive to fill up their cars and they rode off to Washington DC to mete out justice to their elected representatives.

Seriously, thanks for showing us who's side you are on you damned Senate Republicans. And yes I'm sure both of the assholes who "represent" my state voted to block any taxes on their corporate overlords.

Here's the email I sent to both my asshole Republican Senators:

I hope you can sleep easy tonight knowing you kept your corporate paymasters in the oil business safe from having to pay taxes. You should be ashamed of yourself for not voting to tax the greedy oil companies while millions of people suffer as a result of their price gouging.

I suggest you apologize for your behavior and that you resign from the Senate the moment you receive this.

I'll be posting any repsonse you might give regarding this email on my blog so I'd choose my words very carefully if you choose to respond to this email.

Oh really?

I may be wrong but if my campaign was promising a continuation of the bad economic policies of Bush the Idiot and if one of my economic advisors was the woman who nearly bankrupted a solid company like Hewlett Packard (From Ms. Fiorina's Wikipedia biography: " Fiorina presided over a halving of Hewlett Packard's value during her tenure and heavy job losses.[1] She was fired by HP's board due to dissatisfaction with her performance in February 2005.") then I certainly wouldn't be claiming bullshit like this.

I guess he wasn't kidding when he said he knew nothing about economics.

Unless he proves me wrong...

Until he proves me wrong, I'm saying that former Congressman and future felon Tom Delay is an unrepentant pedophile who knowingly broke Texas law so he could get sent to prison so that he could enjoy anal intercourse with his fellow white power buddies away from the prying accusatory eyes of his wife and children. He could try to prove me wrong but it's going to take a mountain of evidence and lots of cash to make me think otherwise.

Money down a rat hole

Oh how I love this.  I found it through Blue Gal and D Cup.  I found out that most of the people in the zip codes from around here gave money to Mike Huckadouche and to Fred "I swear I'm not asleep" Thompson.  And now both of those assholes are out of the race.  Hahahahahahaha, my conservative neighbors tossed their money down a rat hole. Hahahahaha.

And best of all my douchebag Congressman, David Davis, threw away $1000 on Fred Thompson.  Hahahahaha, what a fucking idiot.

Reality check

So Hillary won a state primary where she was 30 something points ahead to begin with.  Funny how in a state she was supposed to win, has always led in, and where she pandered to every constituency she could, she only ended up winning by barely 10 percentage points.  Not too impressive if you ask me, in fact if the race had gone on for another week or so in the Keystone state, what the hell is keystone anyway?, Obama would have won it.

So if I were you Hillary supporters,

I wouldn't brag about how your woman crushed the mighty Obama ad machine.  She didn't crush it at all she almost got crushed by it instead.  And one more thing supporters of Hillary, you really shouldn't be going around talking about how you think Obama is too weak to go up against Bush McCain in the fall because it only makes you look petty and scared of defeat yourselves.  If your candidate has to resort to the fear based tactics of Bush Rove and Bush McCain to get herself elected, then it only proves our contention that Hillary is not really a Democrat at all, she's Republican lite.
Oh yeah, I nearly forgot, I almost had to pull the car over to the side of the road because I was laughing so hard at Hillary's statement that she will renegotiate NAFTA as soon as she gets into office.  Correct me if I'm wrong but is that the same NAFTA she once supported when her husband was President?  Is it the same NAFTA that has made companies like Wal*Mart so much money?  And didn't she sit on the board of Wal*Mart for years and years as it grew and it ate up small business after small business and it ruined town after town?  Because if I'm wrong then I'd dearly love to have one of you correct me.  Maybe it was a different NAFTA or something.

Or maybe all this goes to show you how she'll say or do anything to get elected.  And that includes knocking MoveOn.org, getting in bed with the guy who was behind the vast right wing conspiracy against her husband, and refusing to go after Bush McCain.

I had my reservations about Hillary but at one time I was prepared to vote for her if she was the nominee.  But then she said that on day one she and Bush McCain would be ready to lead but Obama would only be ready to give another speech.  When I heard that I decided that if she got the nomination then I'm voting for Ralph Nader or Cynthia McKinney.
