Murdoch is scum

Rupert Murdoch, seen here being protected by his third wife Wendy, accepts no responsibility for his lawless company's crimes, which include bribery, wire fraud, invasion of privacy, and probably murder. Since corporations are people, we should be locking News Corp and it's CEO away in prison. I have no faith that our corporation owned judicial system will bring him to justice but history will show him to be a scummy robber baron who was hated by millions, including me.

Fuck you Murdoch. I wish there was a hell and that you'd be sent there and be made to suffer for all eternity. May a pox be delivered on your house and all your businesses.

"Don't blame us," said the guilty men

When I first heard about this article in the Washington Post the other day, I honestly thought it was a joke. I really thought that someone from The Onion had snuck into the Post offices and wrote that article as a gag, a sick joke. But to my surprise and to my chagrin, it wasn't a joke, the CEO's of some of America's biggest corporations were blaming American workers for the lack of an economic recovery.

According to the article, "They (the CEO's) blame their profound caution on their view that U.S. consumers are destined to disappoint for many years. As a result, they say, the economy is unlikely to see the kind of almost unbroken prosperity of the quarter-century that preceded the financial crisis."

That's a pretty funny statement isn't it? They blame us for disappointing them. For not buying enough, for not making them enough profit, for not being good little consumers who spend all our money on their shit and services.

Hey, CEO's, here's a news flash for you: We can't buy the products you make or use the services you sell if we don't have any money. See guys, you cut wages, benefits, and jobs to make your bottom line look good to Wall Street. And as a result of all that your short term profits rose and your stock price went up but after you cut all the wages, benefits, and jobs, nobody had any money left to buy anything because they had no discretionary income left. The money they used to spend on buying the latest greatest version of microwaves, cars, or whatever now goes to paying the light bill, the mortgage, and it buys groceries and clothes.

In your mad rush to maximize shareholder value you minimized your employees. Instead of taking care of the people who built your companies and who paid your salaries, you shafted them by moving their jobs China. You downsized and laid off the very people you want to buy your products. If people have no money, no jobs, no hope because American business has failed them, how do you expect them to buy your products? If people can't make ends meet on what little you pay them now, how can they be expected to buy more so that your company can make more money?

Your economic model makes no sense. You can't ship jobs to China and expect the Americans you put on the unemployment line to buy what the Chinese now make. You can't expect people who have nothing to keep buying your products. You can't keep taking with both hands and then expect those you took everything from to bail you out.

So, the fact that we have no economic recovery in this country isn't our fault, we've done everything you've asked. We worked hard, we paid our taxes, we built your shit, we bought your shit, we took your shit, and then you shit on us. So dear CEO's, the fault lies with you and your insane expectations and your nonsensical Milton Friedman-esque economic theories. We here outside of your cloistered boardrooms did what we were supposed to do, and we continue to do it, it's you who changed the rules and rigged the game. It's you who lied and who disappoint. It's you who are causing economic stagnation. We swallowed your lies for years, especially the lie that if you work hard enough then great things will happen. The smart ones among us know that millions of us work hard every day and all they get for it is a handful of shit courtesy of your big heartless soulless corporate culture that prizes shareholder profits over everything.

I can't wait for this economic house of cards to collapse and for your corporations to fall. Maybe out of their ashes will rise a fairer system that puts people before profits and has safeguards against big corporate bullies. You know, kind of like the stuff the late great FDR enacted in the aftermath of the Great Depression. Mr. and Mrs. CEO, the time of reckoning will soon be at hand and it's not going to be pretty or fun for any of you.

Dear Robert Gibbs,

Since I don't take ads on or make money off of my left wing blog, I know you weren't referring to me when you made your comments about 'the professional left.' But you know what Robert? Fuck you very much just the same.

Dude, people on the left need to get drug tested because they disagree with the shitty way you and your boss treat them? Up yours you asshole. People on the left get pissed off because the people they helped get elected keep shitting all over them.

You cowards are so afraid of your own shadow and what they are going to say about you on FOX Noise that you have to demonize people who worked their asses off to get you and your cronies elected? Not cool dude. And spare me the bullshit that I don't know what it's like to work in the White House at the top political level, I don't need to know what it's like, what I do know is how to treat people who help me and that's what you need to learn.

I expect scorn and derision from people on the right, from intolerant Christians, from the idiots who want to 'protect' the Constitution by ripping it apart and pissing on it, and you know what Robert? I welcome their scorn and derision. I welcome it because I know I'm right and they're wrong. I know that the best way forward for the whole country, not just the rich and powerful few, is via the progressive path.

What I don't expect is to get treated like shit by people I helped put in power.

So in conclusion, fuck you. Fuck you, fuck President Obama, fuck Rahm, fuck Mark Penn, fuck the Clinton's, fuck James Carville and his uber creepy wife, and fuck anyone who says I have to support or vote for you frauds again. I don't have to vote for you, there are more than enough people who will get scared and drink the Kool Aid in 2012 and they'll swallow the bullshit lie that if we don't vote for your man Obama that Sarah Palin and the Christian Taliban will take over and plunge us into more wars. Fuck that. Fuck them. And fuck you, you ungrateful bastard. And go fuck yourself, you fucking fuck.

Sincerely,
Dr. Monkey

PS: Seriously, I mean it, fuck off you fucking fucktard.

A Monkey Movie Review

I've been wanting to see this documentary ever since I first heard about it and last night it was on Sundance Channel:
Right off the bat I must tell you that I love Reverend Billy and his message of stopping shopping at corporate stores. I love how he attacks Starbucks, Disney, Target, Wal Mart, and other mega corporations for how they have ruined many a life and town. To me he's a hero who should be lauded every time he 'preaches.'

So having said that, what do you think I thought of this film?

Yeah, you're right. I liked it a lot. I didn't love it, but I really liked it.

The movie documents Rev. Billy, and for those of you who don't know, Rev. Billy is not a real minister, he's a character played by Bill Talen, and his choir as they tour America by bus spreading their message of stop shopping through song and sermon. They start out in NYC and head across the midwest, the southwest, and end up in Disneyland on Christmas day. The message they spread is simple, stop shopping at big corporate retailers and buy local when ever possible. Also they want people to consume less so that the people who work in the sweatshops under deplorable inhumane conditions won't have to work as hard and so that the planet won't be raped of it's natural resources. They also try to spread the message that Christmas isn't about an orgy of consumerism, it's about spending time with those you love and celebrating the birth of a man who wanted to bring peace to all the world.

As you might imagine, mega retailers and the corporations he attacks don't like Rev. Billy and his choir and they have him thrown off their property and have him arrested whenever possible. Which goes to show you how fucked up our system is. By that I mean if you go into Wal Mart, or Target, or Disneyland, and point out to people shopping there that those corporations ruin communities by paying low wages, keep thousands enslaved making cheap trinkets and clothing, and run their competitors out of business using nefarious business practices, then the corporations can call the cops and have you arrested for trespassing. But on the other if you call the cops on Wal Mart for killing the businesses in your downtown area, or on Target for selling stuff below cost when locally owned stores can't, or on Disney for using it's entertainment products to dilute your culture while promoting the go go consume at all costs American lifestyle, then the cops would laugh at you.

So yeah, this film has many valid points that millions of us need to hear again and again. And if you're a huge fan of all things Disney, or Target, or Wal Mart, then you're going to hate this film, but you are just the type of person that needs to see it.

Rev. Billy and his Church of Stop Shopping Now Choir are so spot on it's uncomfortable at times. But one way or another what he wants is going to come to pass sooner or later because our economy is unsustainable. It's going to collapse one day either because of the man made climate changes we're causing, or when the rest of you get laid off because all the jobs in the US are outsourced by the greedy corporations. And it looks like we've learned nothing from the last economic melt down so when it melts down again and China won't give us any more credit maybe we'll have to start making things here again and when the corporate genetically modified crops fail for good then well have to start growing our own food again as well. And when those days come maybe Rev. Billy will be seen for the national hero that he is.

Twenty years ago in China...

Twenty years ago in China the top people in the Chinese Communist party who were running the country saw the writing on the wall. They saw that they could not run a huge state run economy any more. They saw that their economic system was going to collapse in on itself like the Russian one was doing at that time, so they decided to make drastic changes. The brought in Milton Friedman to help them make the switch to a capitalist corporation based economy. And Friedman and his cronies did the bidding of their Communist paymasters, in fact they did it very well indeed.

However, the vast majority of the people in the cities who faced the loss of their state pensions, their jobs in the state run factories, and a radically different way of life took to the streets in protest when they got wind of what was going to happen. In Beijing they took to the streets and they protested for days and the protesters congregated in the massive public space we know as Tiananmen Square. A small minority of the protesters decided to use this anti capitalist protest as a platform to protest against the Communist party that controlled China and to agitate for democracy, but by and large the vast majority of the people who were protesting in Tiananmen Square over those few days in June of 1989 were protesting against the coming capitalist take over of their economy.

The corporate media in the west, especially the corporate controlled media in the United States decided to frame the whole protest as a pro-democracy protest. They conveniently ignored all the protesters who were railing against western corporations and capitalism, and instead they focused on the tiny minority who were shouting pro democracy slogans. When the tanks rolled in and the army began shooting, the western corporate media were able to condemn the repressive measures the Communist government used to quell the protests on one hand, while on the other they were able to fill their corporate coffers with profits made off the backs of those same protesters who were forced into working in western factories in the ensuing years. The people they lionized as heroic and brave twenty years ago are slaves to the corporations that own the media outlets today.

The Chinese people don't want western style democracy now and they didn't want it twenty years ago. They wanted to keep their secure jobs. They wanted to keep their rent controlled apartments. They wanted to keep their government pensions and their way of life. They didn't want this:
or this
and they didn't want to become wage slaves and to have to work 14 hours a day in factories like this Nike shoe plant in China.
The millions of warm bodies who follow orders willingly were long coveted by western multi national corporations, they viewed the Chinese population as a mass of people just waiting to be exploited for their gain. And twenty years ago, they finally got their wish.

So while you enjoy all those goods that say 'Made in China,' you can thank those tanks that rolled into Tiananmen Square. They didn't take away democracy from the Chinese people, instead they brought in western multi national corporations so that a few people could become wildly wealthy while the rest of us lost ground. And if you really want to learn from the events in China twenty years ago, then you need to learn to stop shopping at big box retailers, stop supporting multi national corporations, and you need to start buying locally from locally owned businesses.

Thanks for nothing

Thanks for selling out the Constitution so your corporate pay masters can enjoy immunity for their illegal deeds. Yo, Congressional "leadership" if you want to know why your approval ratings are so low it's because you keep doing the bidding of that lawless thug in the White House. If you over paid under worked lying weasels stood up to him and stopped trying to look like you're not "weak on terror and national defense" then perhaps the general public wouldn't hate you all so much. My douchebag Congressdwarf voted to shield the telecoms from immunity because he's a toadying simpering smallminded Republican.

I fucking wish you Democrats would stop acting like my douchebag Congressdwarf.

Enough

I've had enough of all of them.

The Clintons and the Bushes that is. This country has had a Clinton or a Bush in the White House for the past 28 years and to be honest I hope we never see another of either of those families in power again.

I've had enough of older baby boomers and the "greatest generation" running things. I'm 45 and I know damn well that someone my age would make a fine President. And I want someone my age to be President. Someone who's been through the same things I've been through, historically speaking.

I've had enough of rich white people running things. That's all we've had for the past two hundred and some years and it's time for people of color to step up and lead this nation for a change, after all people of color are in the majority world wide, as much as Pat Buchanan and Mike Malkin hate it.

I know Sen. Obama is going to make mistakes when he gets elected President, and I know he's not perfect, no one is. But what I also know is that we need a break from the Bushes and the Clintons and from the way we've always done things. It's time to go in a new direction, one that is more fair for more Americans. And I believe the only way were ever going to change things is to get away from the old politicians and their unoriginal lockstep way of thinking and doing business.

What I really think would be best for our country is a wholesale departure from our current corporate system, but that's not going to happen because corporate control of our government is too strong. But maybe, just maybe, if we have the balls to elect a black President then maybe we can also have the balls to start to dismantle the corporate control of our lives, our government, and our political system. Maybe one day we finally have have a government for us, by us.

So long shithead

Bye bye Rudy. It was 9/11 fun making 9/11 of you 9/11. But honestly 9/11, did you really 9/11 think you'd be elected 9/11 President 9/11? Just because you brow beat 9/11 New Yorkers into electing your 9/11 crazy fascist ass 9/11, that didn't mean 9/11 that the rest of us 9/11 would fall for your crap too 9/11.
So now you'll 9/11 McCain and you and 9/11 Cruella DeVille will 9/11 back to Slytherin house for a bit of a 9/11 rest before you continue to make money off of 9/11. Defeat could not have happened to a more deserving human being. 9/11.

Now all the signs in the shopping arcades say, "The corporation thief is the new Jesse James!"

Odds bless him, Elvis was anti corporate before being anti corporate was cool.

By the way, the guy who plays the gameshow host in this video, Harry Enfield, is huge in Britain, over here however he can't get arrested.

I have no idea who the brunette in this video is but she's insanely cute in it.

Broken

I had been saving my nickels, dimes, and pennies for months so that I could finally buy an iSplotchy of my very own.

The day finally arrived when I had enough cash and I ran to my local iSplotchy retailer and I plunked down my money.

I was giddy with happiness. My feet barely touched the ground as I ran home. But then I tripped as I crossed the threshold of el Casa de Monkey and my iSplotchy flew out of my hand, fell on the floor, and it shattered into a million pieces.
I took my now useless iSplotchy back to the store but I was told that there was no warranty on it. What a rip off. I'm begging you people out there not to believe the hype. The iSplotchy sucks, don't waste any of your hard earned money on it.

This is why I love Naomi Klein

I may have to run out and buy her new book when it hits the stores here.

I remember extolling the virtues of her last book No Logo to a young female cousin of mine. I was telling my then teenage cousin what a bad thing that corporations were branding everything in sight including her clothing and she looked at me like I had three heads. My cousin said something like, "But I like Old Navy and Gap clothes. I like people seeing that I wear those kinds of clothes," and as soon as she said that I thought, "Oh shit, we may have already lost the fight to take back our lives from the greedy corporate pigs."

But then Ms. Klein comes out with a new book and she restores my faith in people once more.

Thank you once again Canada for producing another great American.

Charter Cable Sucks Like A Vacuum Cleaner

Since today is a day with a Y in it my internet is off and on again. It's been spotty all week but since the 15th of this month it's been off for anywhere from 1/2 hr to 9 hrs a freakin' day, every day. And of course I'll be billed for all those hours it was off. Except that I've been keeping a log of your internet outages Charter and I'm going to the local office at the end of the month and I'm giving them a copy and I'll be asking, politely of course, for credit for all the times your shitty internet service was out.

Oh, Mr. Charter Cable CEO, I'm still waiting for my written apology from you for your company's shitty service.

He's joking right?

So the Chickenhawk in Chief wants to cut more taxes huh. But it's not your taxes he wants to cut Mr. and Mrs. America, no sir. The taxes he wants to cut are those of American corporations. He says we've got to cut their taxes even more, and let's remember that most of them pay NEXT TO NOTHING in taxes in the first place, so that they can be more competitive around the world.

Holy shit. Is he kidding? Does he think we are that stupid that we would believe that shit he's trying to pass off on us? I the eyes of the law a corporation is a person and it has all the rights a person has. But on the other hand it has none of the responsibilities. They weasel their way out of paying what taxes we do place on them while the burden of their non payment is met by us, the working class citizens. Bush Jr. wants them to pay even less now as he makes us pay more for his war. It's more tax cuts for his buddies and more tax burden for me and you.

He doesn't want you to think about all those corporations that are based in countries that make them pay taxes yet who still rake in millions globally. He doesn't want you to think about the fact that most of our European allies and BFF's governments are socialist style governments, France, Germany, Sweden, the UK, etc, that make their corporate citizens pay their fair share.
Here's the logo's of some of those companies that do pretty fucking well without having their taxes cut every five fucking minutes:

Other companies that fit into this category are ADIDAS, Astra Zeneca, BBC, BP, Fiat, GlaxoSmithKline, Jaguar, Kangol, Landrover, Lego, L'Oreal, Michelin, Reebok, Rolls Royce, Ubisoft, and Vivendi Universal. It's funny how those companies can make millions worldwide and still have to pay taxes and yet the Idiot in Chief says that American companies can't do the same thing.

So basically he's saying we have to cut the taxes of a group that can best afford to pay and shift that burden to the group who can least afford to pay more in taxes.

Hey George, I think you're just trying to sell out the American people to the corporations even more than you already have. I say you're a stooge who lost your credibility long ago and no person in their right mind would fall for your insane ramblings on cutting taxes for corporations.
How about you and Dick Cheney resign and let Nancy Pelosi run things until I or Dennis Kucinich gets elected? Will you do that please? Will you and Darth Cheney step down? Well, what do you think about my proposal?

Ok then, fuck you too.

Hey Charter

I know what you guys are up to. You've slowed down my internet whenever I click on my blog. Since it's my home page it's really annoying. But you know what? You know how I'm on to you? No one elses blog on Blogger.com takes so long to load so I know you guys are trying to get me back for letting people know about your shitty service. My internet from you greedy pigs has been acting up ever since I would not talk to your corporate goon Andre. I'm not backing down though, I pay on time every month and you guys screw me over every month, so until you clean up your act I'm putting this on the top of my sidebar:

Deal with it you greedy slow ass internet job outsourcing pig fucking bastards.

Don't poison me Elmo

Pity poor Mattel. They are going to lose $30 million dollars this year because they are too cheap to make their toys in the USA. Yep, that's right. They are too cheap to make their toys in the USA so they contracted some companies in China to make their toys for them. But it turns out those rascals in China used too much lead paint on the toys and now the nosy Parker Feds in DC are making Mattel take those toys off the market, hence losing them $30 million dollars. Everybody together now and let's tell the pricks at Mattel how we feel, "Awwwwwwww." The thing about this is if those toys had not been tested they'd still be on the market. Mattel did not test them for lead paint content, the Feds did. Mattel, no matter what they claim now that they have been caught, could care less about the lead content in the paints used in China. Why do you think they got the toys made in China in the first place? They got the Chinese companies to make their toys for them because they wanted to make more profits and to escape the labor laws and environmental laws of the USA. They wanted more profits for themselves and their shareholders even if that meant using Chinese companies who get the job done for the least amount of money and with the least amount of environmental oversight.

The top brass at Mattel are trying to place blame for this shit storm on the Chinese. One of them said, "Our safety record is exemplary. All of us at Fisher Price are devastated." Fisher Price is a subsidiary of Mattel. He might as well say, "It wasn't our fault, it's the damn Chinese fault! We didn't do nothin' wrong. Honest!" Bull shit. Their safety record is exemplary because they shut down most of the plants that used to make their toys here in the USA and they then contracted the making of their toys out to the Chinese. It's not hard to have a great safety record when you don't make a fucking thing.

Honestly, you can't blame the Chinese for making these toys so cheaply, that's what Mattel and Fisher Price paid them to do. So the blame for toys coated in lead based paints lays with Mattel and especially with their management team. Give them a ring sometime and ask to speak to their CEO and tell his or her ass that they are a bunch of greedy pigs who only care about how much moneythey can squeeze out of us and that they could care less about kids and families, send them an email with those sentiments as well.

If I had small children or very young grandchildren I'd be off the hook mad at these greedy bastards. I'd package up all the Mattel and Fisher Price toys and I'd send them to the CEO and I'd demand a refund and a written apology. But I know what I'd get back for my trouble, not a damn thing because they dont care. Oh sorry, they only care when they get caught and then they act like they care so very much. As long as we let the multi national corporations run roughshod over us and we do not reign them in, then we can expect more of this type of crap. And we can expect their handmaidens in crime in Washington DC to stand by them and to shield them from lawsuits. Corporations will never do the right thing, they will always put profits before people and we will always get screwed over until we demand that the corporations stop being given the same rights as flesh and blood citizens. A corporation is not a person and they do not deserve the same rights as we do. When we reign in the corporations and the runaway greed that they instill in all of us then we will see a huge drop in terrorism and we will begin to heal the divisions in our society.

Until we force some sane regulation on the mutlinational corporations let's hit them where it hurts and stop buying their cheap ass shit and if they don't get in line after that, then let's take a tip from Mojo Nixon:

Sunday, July 29, 2007

Hey Hillary...

... who's going to sell us out to the multinational corporations and to military industrial complex even more than King George The Dumbass?

Ok, got it. Thanks.

A history lesson for the Loser in Chief

Since he looks increasingly out of touch and increasingly out of his mind and since may be drunk off his ass since the late 70's, I am offering a history lesson to our "President."

Are you listening Georgie?
That's what I thought but I'm gonna go on anyway, just in case this sinks in your fat head.

For many years this country thought the Communists were out to destroy us. So the policy of the US government was to help anyone anywhere any way they could who fought against the Communists. This aid included giving anti Communist groups guns, bombs, money, women, booze, anything they wanted.

In 1979 the Soviet Army invaded Afghanistan. Our government got pissed about it and we boycotted the Moscow Olympics and we gave what became known as the Mujaheddin many millions of dollars worth of guns and ammo to fight the dirty Commies. We called them heroes for fighting the Commies and we lauded them up one side and down the other. Their shit did not stink. As long as they fought the Commies they were our BFF's over there. It did not matter that they oppressed women, bullied children, grew the poppies that Heroin is made out of, or were Islamic fundamentalists. We loved these guys and we stocked them with anything they wanted. This is one of the guys our CIA trained, funded, and assisted in fighting the Communists. He was our friend. He was Reagan and Bush the first's anti Communist Saudi love god. He took our money and he trained his people and he formed a group that became known as Al Qaeda. This is all true. Our government trained Al Qaeda, it funded Al Qaeda, it helped make Osama what he is today. All this information is public knowledge.

When the Soviets finally left Afghanistan and it fell into lawlessness after a while the Taliban emerged as the most powerful group and they took over. They imposed a harsh brand of Islamic government with the blessing of the USA and with money provided by the Bush family of companies. The Taliban took over many of the guns, bombs, and ammo that we gave the other Afghans groups and they used it against their own people but we did not care because they had been so nice in helping to drive out the Communists.

So after our one time pal Saddam Hussein got his hand slapped in the first Gulf War for trying to take over Kuwait and we put permanent bases in Saudi Arabia Osama, Al Qaeda, and the Taliban got pissed. They said that since Saudi Arabia housed Mecca that US troops stationed on Saudi soil was a shitty thing. They all vowed to get us out of there on way or another.

That's when Osama and Al Qaeda started attacking US interests all over the world. Which led our President of course to decide to overthrow Saddam. Which I guess makes some sort of sense in some twisted parallel universe.

Now that we've killed nearly a million Iraqi's and gosh knows how many Afghans, gotten almost 5000 of our people killed, wasted billions of dollars, ruined the physical and mental health of hundreds of thousands of people, many folks are saying that the war is a bad thing. In fact some are even saying that no such thing as "victory" in Iraq is possible. They say that every one of the reasons we went to war was wrong and proved to be a lie. Our stubborn President says that the main reason we are still there is to defeat Al Qaeda and that "progress is being made." Yet the National Intelligence Report, which was done by people in his own government, says that after five years of war Al Qaeda is as strong now as they were five years ago.

Using the President's own statements and our own government's former actions then we can only come to one conclusion and that is that we have lost a war to a group of people that we trained and helped arm. Every day that we stay in Iraq we create more recruits for Al Qaeda and we harden sentiment against our occupying force.

We have lost this war the we created. In our zeal to fight Communism we created a monster and now that monster has defeated us. Well, it actually has defeated an idiot who happens to occupy our White House. If we do not impeach him he will do to us in Iran what he has done to us in Iraq.

We must impeach him and his out of control, blood thirsty Vice President or they will drag us all down in flames. Their statements that they want to see democracy spring up in the Middle East as a result of this war are lies. They want to see more oil profits and more repressive governments in power over there so they can maintain their corporate grip on the world.

Impeach them, disobey them, and stop supporting the corprations who reap the benefits of this insane hellish war.
