What are you blaming Obama for this week?

 "My incompetence at work."

 "Nerve stapling on Gleep-Zorp 6."

 "Hostility to clowns."

"Luke warm formula and my poopy diaper."

 "Christian hell houses."

"Vaginal dryness."

Shocking video of President Obama's early years!

Forget the birth certificate thing, forget the Muslim school controversy, this video shows that President Obama is nothing but a pawn of the tobacco companies! Click it and watch, you'll be amazed and disgusted.

Goodbye Madam

Obama's grandmother has died and my sympathies are with him and his family. I'm sure she passed comfortably and with the knowledge that her grandson was going to become the next President of the United States.

To find out how the right wingers in this nation feel about Obama losing his grandmother, the woman who raised him after his mother died, go read the commenter's at Malkin's blog. I refuse to link to her hateful blog but if you're so inclined go see what the people who are supposed to be lovers of Christ say about this sad event.

How did that meeting go between Obama and President Clinton go?

Clinton, angry over the fact that Obama beat his wife in the race for the Democratic party's Presidential nomination, morphed into a rabid pit bull and attacked Senator Obama.
Obama then did the only thing he could have done, he defended himself. It took mere minutes for Clinton to see the light and to fully commit to supporting Obama in the Presidential race.
Once he had the support of Bill "I never had sex with that woman" Clinton locked up, Sen. Obama took his daughter out for some ice cream.

And when Obama kicked Bush McCain's ass in November, we all lived happily ever after.

Pride and prejudice

I'll be honest with you, I never thought we'd see this day in my life time. I never ever thought we'd ever have a black man be the nominee of the Democratic party in my lifetime. I knew for certain we'd never see a black man be the nominee of the Republican party and we probably never will. But I always thought that it would be another 100 years or so until we had progressed enough to vote for a black man to be our next Presidential nominee. But here we are with Barack Obama as the presumptive nominee of the Democratic party and I feel like I am not only witnessing history, I feel like I am about to burst with pride.

I was born in 1962 when the civil rights movement was just getting into gear. For the first ten years of my life I lived in the projects in Detroit. I was in the minority in my old neighborhood, there were only three white families in Smith Homes Housing Projects and ours was one of them. I grew up surrounded by black folks, my best friend was a black kid named Aaron Lewis, and we spent many hours playing, talking, eating, and in each others homes. As close as he and I were there was always something between us, and it was the unspoken knowledge that right then, and for the foreseeable future as far as we knew, that white people would always have the upper hand and would always run things.
But tonight things may finally have changed for the better.

For a country that once enslaved black folks and counted them as 3/5ths of a human to now have a black man as the presumptive nominee of one of it's major political parties is astounding. This has never happened in Great Britain, France, Brazil, or any other major democracy outside of Africa, so it's a historic day.

I started out backing Dennis Kucinich in this long Democratic party primary season and then when he started flirting with hitching his wagon to Ron Paul I dropped my support of him. Then he dropped out and I tossed my support behind John Edwards because I like his populist message, then he dropped out. At that point, frankly I was afraid to publicly back Obama for fear that I'd curse him too, but I went ahead and joined his camp and I never looked back. My first choice didn't get the nomination and neither did my second choice but I ended up backing the best choice.

And it's time for you Hillary supporters to join the rest of us in backing our presumptive nominee. No more holding out hope against hope that the super delegates will switch to her campaign. It's over. Obama won and if you care about your party, about this country, about ending the war, about ending Republican and corporate malfeasance, about keeping a woman's right to choose safe from the right wing religious nut bags, about reclaiming our civil liberties and restoring our reputation in the world, then you better get on this train. You need to support the man who history has chosen to be our first black President. Senator Obama has electrified a good portion of this nation and with your help we'll put him in the White House even if it pisses off the citizens of West Virginia (sorry June) and Kentucky.
When I was a boy people referred to blacks as n*ggers, jigaboos, monkeys, and animals. Now, 4o some odd years later people will finally call a black man "Mr. President." How effing cool is that?

Go gently into that good night before you poison the well any more than you already have

I am seriously hoping this is true.  It's time a Clinton did the right thing for the whole Democratic party and not just waht was good for them for a change.

And if it is true and Obama does become the presumptive nominee, then I've got to hand it to D Cup and Mathman's son because he was an Obama backer long before many of us came on board.  He was pushing Obama on his on his blog, which I'm not even sure he writes any more, back when I was still dreaming of a Kucinich Presidency.

On the real campaign trail

It was a busy weekend on the real campaign trail. There were primaries and caucuses all over the place so I thought I'd get you all caught up with the latest news. First up, McCain spent the weekend giving his wife the evil eye because she forgot to puree his Cream of Wheat like he likes it. He also got mad at her for not Tivoing Murder She Wrote and Matlock all last week.
In other Republican news Mike Huckabee hit the bricks hard in search of votes and cash. Here he is in Kansas looking for votes and looking dapper. His lovely wife Janet spent the weekend speaking in tongues and scaring small children. And finally future historical footnote George W. Bush claimed that he would be an asset to John McCain's campaign and that Barack Obama was not ready to be President. Given Bush's track record of truth telling, the entire nation took what he said with a gazillion grains of salt.

In the Democratic Party race former President Bill Clinton was in Abingdon, VA, which is about 30 miles from me, over the weekend campaigning for his wife. I didn't go see him but everyone told me he looked just as good as ever. And now, I saved the best for last:
Barack kicked Hillary's ass, shoot, I mean, he swept all the primaries and caucuses this weekend. He won every single one of them. Every. One. He lost none. I think it's time for Howard Dean to tell Hillary to bow out and let the man with the momentum run unopposed. Rock on Barack. Win in November, yes we can.

The early monkey gets the vote

I took advantage of early voting today and I cast my ballot in the TN Democratic primary race.

Who did I vote for you ask? I know I said I was going to vote for Edwards if he was still on the ballot but when I thought long and hard about it I wanted my vote to count towards something positive and I wanted my vote to help a candidate who was still running to get some delegates. Most of you know how I feel about the former First Lady, Mrs. Wal-Mart Clinton, so I was left with only one choice, and I actually feel pretty good about him being the Democratic Party's nominee. That's right boys and girls, I voted for Barack Obama.
I like the idea of having a black President. Especially one who was out organizing and helping to make his community a better place while Hillary was sitting on the board of the company which has done more to erode workers rights and to kill small locally owned businesses than most any other, Wal-Mart.

Obama is not perfect, no candidate ever is, but he's a damn sight better than Hillary. I also like the fact that someone I respect and admire greatly, Caroline Kennedy, endorsed him and that Jimmy Carter while not endorsing yet, has lavished a good amount of praise on him.

I'd like to see him pick John Edwards or Gov. Kathleen Sebelius or even Gov. Richardson of New Mexico as his running mate. And I'd also like to see him pick Dennis Kucinich to be Sec. of Labor, can you imagine the gains working people would make if Kucinich was Sec. of Labor?

The other benefit of electing Barak Obama would be we'd finally get a beautiful, smart, and did I mention glamorous First Lady.

If you live in a state that is having a primary next week, I urge you all to go vote for the Democratic Party candidate of your choice, but I hope you'll back Barack.

The more things change, the more they stay the same

I'm still voting for John Edwards in my state primary, I could care less if he dropped out or not. If he's on the ballot, I'm voting for him.
********
If it comes down to Obama and that Wal-Mart Clinton then I'm voting for Obama. I would hope that if Obama gets the nomination he'd pick either Edwards or Gov. Sebelius to be his running mate.
********
If Mrs. Hillary Corporation gets the nomination, then I'm voting for whoever the Green Party nominee is.

Thank you Dr. Zaius

My main rival for the Presidency, Dr. Zaius, has compiled a compelling list of reasons why you should support Barak Obama. I'm still going to vote for the candidate who I previously supported, but since he has no long term chance I'm leaning toward Obama for a couple of reasons.
What?! You knew I was going there.

Commence the race baiting!

The pundits and passe politicians all told us a few months ago that Hillary was going to whip everyone in the Democratic Party's Presidential fields ass. Well the good white folks of Iowa made liars out of them. Once again the talking heads on TV got it wrong. Obama won, and he won convincingly by getting white voters to vote for him. He'll get an unmistakable bounce in New Hampshire and a huge bounce in South Carolina.

What's going to happen now is Republicans and their water carriers in the corporate media are going to start attacking him because he is black. Rush and Ann and Michelle will all be singing a chorus of "He's black and he'll defile your virginal white daughters, that is if a damn dirty illegal Mexican doesn't do it first." Trust me, they're going to use every trick in the book to make Evangelicals and gay haters afraid of black people. If Obama gets nominated they'll do their best to incite race riots before November so that Cheney and Bush can have an excuse to cancel the election.

Quick question

What do these two have in common besides the fact that they are both trying to become their party's Presidential nominee?
Give up?
Okay, then I'll tell you. They are the top two recipients of monies raised from military personnel and organizations that represent military personnel.
Crazy huh? Two candidates who advocate getting the hell out of Iraq now are getting the most money from people who are fighting this insane war.
You other war mongering candidates would do well to get with the mainstream of this country and start opposing the war too. Except of course for you Mr. McCain, you can keep screaming how well the surge has worked. It's okay John, we all know you flipped out in the Hanoi Hilton and made a promise that if the USA ever got into another war that you'd see to it that we stayed until the bitter end.
