She's a wiener

MNMom, a long time blog bud, won a CD copy of my graphic novel Hip Deep, Mountain High! She was the first to point out that the above illustration is an homage to the first B-52's album cover. MNMom gets the CD courtesy of another long time blog friend, who wishes to remain anonymous, who graciously purchased the CD and then donated it back to me so I could give it away in a contest.

Your CD will be going out in the mail on Wednesday MNMom. Thanks for playing!

And thanks once again to the anonymous blog friend who purchased the CD and then donated it back!

You can get your CD copy of my graphic novel by making a minimum $21 donation to my PayPal account. If you don't use PayPal, you can send me a check or money order.

She's a weiner

Karen Zipdrive correctly identified the fictional character this guy played on TV:
He played Mary Hartman's husband Tom. Yay Karen! Shoot me an email with your snail mail address Ms. La Zipdrive and I'll send you out a prize.

Thanks to all those who participated in this contest!

Contest time!

It's been too long since we had a contest on here and for that I apologize, however I do not apologize for anything else, so if you were looking for an apology from me for that thing I did, you can forget it. Anyoo then, tell me via email the name of TV character this guy played and you might win something if you have the correct answer. It could be a vintage postcard, or a vintage paperback, or a lovely plate of potato chips with assorted dips that may or may not have gone bad. It all depends on my mood when I draw the winning name from all the correct answers I receive. So, put on your thinking caps and send those emails to monkeymuckATgmailDOTcom. Any answers left in the comment section will be deleted and any commenter who leaves an answer there may lose their commenting privileges for being dumb enough to leave an answer there when I told you to send me your answers via email.

Contest update

Here's the list of the latest winners of the latest contests that have been held here on Monkey Muck:

The Modern Farmer Advisory Board won the "Haiku of the month" contest. They win free admission to the strip bar of their choice and a dented can of guava soda pop.

Millie Jensen won the latest essay contest and her prize is one of the fabulous jumping dildos of Calaveras county.
We forgot what contest this gal won but we sent her a prize anyway. We cashed out our Monkey Muck 401K's and gave her all the money.

Now that we've got that out of the way, it's time to announce a new contest! The prize is this 4 3/4" by 3 1/2" sticker.
If you'd like to win this sticker then you must enter by email and in that email you must tell me on what vehicle you would put this and, should you win, you must then send me a photo of you pointing to the sticker on said vehicle. Any entries in the comments section will be deleted and I will mock you for trying to enter in the comments rather than following the rules of this contest that have been set forth by me and my crack staff of attorneys. Good luck!

Name that film

You all must hate Suzy Amis because no one guessed last week's film, in fact, no one sent in an entry at all. The film still was from The Ballad of Little Jo, which is a great underrated western, you'll dig it even if you don't like westerns, I promise.

Here's this week's film still:

Send your guess to monkeymuck AT gmail DOT com and if your correct guess is chosen then you might win a vintage postcard with a Zen proverb on it.

Congratulations to....

...my young cousin Tim Greene in Bainbridge, GA who is graduating high school this Thursday! Since I pissed off Tim's mom he doesn't call or write me much anymore, well except for the graduation notice he sent me so I'd send him a card with a check in it. The card and the check are on the way Tim, and I meant what I said in the card young man, don't let anyone who has never been to college talk you out of pursing higher education.

Congrats to this gal
for making a bikini top out of bacon. Mmmm, bacon.

Congrats to Senator Obama for winning the majority of pledged Democratic party delegates!

And last but not least, congratulations go out to my blog buddy Devilham! He not only has the coolest little boy in the world, he's also the winner of this week's Name That Film contest. Devilham and three other people knew the film in question was Repo Man, which is one of my favorite films of all time.

Devilham old man, send me your snail mail address and I'll shoot you out a vintage postcard with a Zen like proverb written on the back.

Name that film!

No one correctly guessed that the last 'Name that film!' movie was Blood Wedding. Perhaps the choice of a Spanish flamenco film was a bit of an esoteric way to start off my running contest, so to correct that here's a film still from a more popular film.
Correctly identify this film and you could win a vintage postcard from yours truly. Send all entries to monkeymuckATgmailDOTcom. In the case of multiple correct guesses I will draw one name from all those who got the name of the film right.

Name that film!

The first person to email me the correct name of the film this photo is from will win a vintage postcard.

Friday, April 11, 2008

Let's have a contest!

I'll award a vintage postcard with a zen-esque proverb on it to the first person who correctly guesses where I took this photo and I'll also send vintage postcard to the person who gives the most creative answer.
Entries will be taken for as long as I decide, so enter this contest quick!

She's #1!

There was only one winner this week in the ongoing Win a Vintage Postcard From Dr. Monkey Sweepstakes and that winner was the lovely Jane Austen Jr.! Jane Jr. is my blog mate on the Spring Reading Challenge, Quotable Quotes, and she also writes her own blog called Chapter 3: In Which She Blogged.
Jane hails from Nova Scotia, which for the geographically challenged of you is in eastern Canada. Congratulations Jane, all of us here at Monkey Central hope you enjoy your postcard and we also hope we can count on you giving us sanctuary if we ever have to flee the USA for political reasons.

Hey my fellow US citizens, are you tired of seeing cute Canadian women win this contest week after week? Well, then you better get off your asses and send in some quality entries if you expect to ever win. For a complete list of rules and past winners of this contest click here.

Let's have a contest!

It turns out that in the postcard packs I bought the other day there were three that had not been used. So I thought I'd send one each to three different readers. If you are chosen then I'll write something Zen-ish on the back and send it to you via snail mail. Now, the question is, how do I decide which people to send them to? Well kids, if you want one send me an email to monkeymuck AT gmail DOT com and tell me why you should get one. You can give me any reason you like, be it funny or serious, and my staff* and I will pick out the three reasons we like the best. Your address will not be sold or given to anyone else, although you may end up on my War on Christmas card list next year. I'll give you all a week and then we'll name the winners. This offer is even open to my international readers as well because honestly, how expensive could it be to send a freakin' postcard over seas or across the border to Canada.

Good luck everyone and get those entries in today!

*Staff may or may not include myself, Sparky, Granny T, Salamander Slim, Ravi the wonder toad, Billy Joe Bob Kowolski, The Lizard King, Mandy You Came And You Gave Without Taking, Prince Bandar, Slappy Weiss, the ghost of Nipsy Russell, former Boston Red Sox pticher Luis Tiant, Tootie, Natalie, Stacy Dash, Mrs. Dash, Dash Rip Rock, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Patty Hearst, Patty Cake, Patty Oh, Sandra Oh, Sandra Dee, Billy Dee Williams, Will I. Am, Bossy's Daughter, Bossy, and or Charo.
