Sorry I'm unable to take your call right now, I'm off armchair traveling with one of my celebrity girlfriends

I bought this great book by my long time celebrity girlfriend and primate smarty pants Jane Goodall:
I paid fifty cents for it and it's chock full of photos of the lovely Miss Jane when she was just a young thing. Sure, it's got a lot of great pictures of chimps as well but come on, who can look at chimps when there's a young Jane Goodall prancing about?

I also got this picture book about Japan:
And this middle school book on South Africa:
I'll be scanning photos from the last two books, which cost me fifty cents each by the way, but I just can't bring myself to tear out any of the photos of Jane and her friends so I'll leave that one intact.

Mini score!

I'm moving in a little over a week and yet I'm still buying vintage photos and magazines from antique stores. I bought a couple of issues of True magazine from the early 70's and I also bought a half dozen vintage photos all for two bucks today at an antique store in Greeneville, TN.

Here's one of the photos I bought:

Score!

I picked up a box of stuff at an antique store today for 10 bucks and change and it had a bunch of somebody's family photos, slides, negatives, and home movies in it. I'll be scanning the photos and slides later. It also had that cool looking slide viewer thingy that you see on the left in the photo and that's a camera case to the right of the viewer thingy, alas it was camera-less. I dig the reels and little itty bitty silver film cans.

Here's a preview of the pictures and slides that I'll be scanning:

Is she great or what?

Sparky picked this up for me at the used book sale on campus today. You can expect to see parts of it soon on Monkey-Scan or even on posts on here. I love, love, love, kitschy stuff like this. Yay kitsch! Yay used book sales on campus! Yay Sparky!
