The Grand Old Stupid Party

Give them a majority in Congress and Republican proceed to get downright stupid.  Cases in point:

• A freshman US Senator in NC thinks that restaurant employees shouldn't have to wash their hands and that laws that say they do are intrusive regulation.
• A morbidly obese bully, the governor of New Jersey, thinks that parents should have the right to not vaccinate their kids. 
• The freshman US Senator from KY says that vaccines can cause serious health problems and therefore parents should not vaccinate their kids if they don't want to.
• Future political footnote black conservative Ben Carson thinks all those illegal alien Mexican kids are causing the measles outbreak, when in fact it's been shown conclusively that it's being caused by white kids from rich families in California. 
• And of course Gomer Huckabee, the man who's son stoned and then hung a dog until it was dead and who tried to board an airplane with a loaded handgun, thinks Obama is a bad parent because he lets his daughters listen to Beyonce.  Oh, he also thinks that Christians shouldn't dance as well.

And this is all in addition to their evolution denying and refusal to accept that we humans are causing out climate to change.  

Holy shit, their stupid, it burns.

Keeping us free

It's not the military dead or wounded that keep us free here in the USA. It's not active duty or reservists who help keep us free during the year and on Memorial Day.

No, the people who do the most to keep us free and who safeguard our rights are the ones who push the boundaries of the freedoms granted to us in the Bill of Rights in our Constitution. So given that, it's not the terrorists in the far off lands who we need to be fighting, it's homegrown terrorists like those in Operation Rescue, the right wing militias, activist conservative judges who make up new laws on the fly, and Christians who want us all to follow their interpretation of their fairy tale who we need to be on guard against.

The pissed off guy in Iraq/Afghanistan/Pakistan who's country we're occupying has every right to be pissed off at us. The children who's parent's we slaughtered so we could make sure the oil keeps flowing out of the Middle East have every right to be pissed off at us. The Palestinians who we keep under the oppressive thumb of Israel have every right to be pissed off at us. The men, women, and children who live under the harsh oppressive governments that we prop up so we can treat the world as our object to be plundered so that we can live 'high on the hog' can and should be pissed at us. That's where most of the military they want us to glorify today is stationed.

And they have no right to be there.

And I'm not going to support them while they are being used in this fashion.

And I'm not going to celebrate or remember them on Memorial Day.

Instead I'm going to remember people who tested the limits of our freedoms and who landmark Supreme Court cases made us all a little more freer than we were before.

This week in blame

It's time to check in and see who's blaming who for what this week!

The Roman Catholic Church is blaming the media, the gays, gay marriage, and young hot sweet super fine hairless smooth boys for all the sex scandals they're currently embroiled in.

Timmy Vanderhoufflen is blaming the scary Closet Monster for making him poop in his pants during his afternoon nap. If the monster hadn't scared him so bad he wouldn't have done it and that would have shown his step mommy that he was indeed a 'big boy' and that he deserved to go to McDonald's for supper. If he'd have remained poopy pants free then maybe she'd lay off the drinking and stop being mean to him and daddy all the god damned time. But no, that damn monster had to go and fuck things up for everybody.

Don Blankenship blamed the lazy good for nothing miners for fucking up his mine and causing that explosion in West Virginia. If those bastards hadn't insisted on well ventilated air shafts, then this whole tragedy could have been prevented.

These two hot Swedish women blame you for not stopping them from making out. If you had asked them to dance or bought them a drink then they would have totally gone back to your place and did what ever you wanted in bed.

The Israeli government is blaming the Palestinian people for not being nicer to them while they oppress them and force a 21st century version of Apartheid on them.

Dr. Steindler blames you for forgetting him.

Kate Winslet blames movie piracy for breaking up her marriage. If only you hadn't bought that pirated version of Titanic, then maybe she'd still be happily married today.

This tuna salad sandwich places the blame on the liberal media, permissive parenting, and mini skirts.

This one goes out to the oppressed people of Pakistan and to all people everywhere who are living under the yoke of USA occupation and under those dictators who are supported by our freedom hating money grubbing corporation coddling power mad Chicken Hawk in Chief.

This song was banned by Thatcher's BBC back when it came out and even though it's about the British occupation of Northern Ireland, it could just as easily be about Pakistan or Iran or Afghanistan or the poor neighborhoods of Washington DC or Compton, California today.
