Profiles in Douchebaggery #4

Why is US Senator Bob Corker (R) TN the fourth person to be in Profiles in Douchebaggery?

Because he allowed this ad to run during his campaign.

Because he let Dick Cheney steal his soul.

Because his followers dance like this:
Because he stands with people who do not want the hate crimes bill to pass, people like these:

That's right, my racebaiting US Senator is against the hate crimes bill that an overwhelming amount of people in this country support. From Think Progress: 68: Percentage of Americans who support federal hate crime legislation for gays and lesbians, according to a Gallup poll, including 60 percent of Republicans and 68 percent of weekly churchgoers.

He is against the hate crimes bill that would protect people like this when someone attacks them for being who they are:

So for running a racebaiting campaign, for not supporting the hate crimes bill, and for so many other reasons, we are proud to make you our fourth Profile in Douchebaggery Bob Corker. Have a squirt on us, you deserve it.

Profiles In Douchebaggery #3

TN Gov. Phil Bredesen ("Democrat" or if we are being honest "Republican Lite") earns his profile in this feature by refusing to commute the death sentence of Phillip Workman, and thereby sending another man to his death, and for tossing tens of thousands of uninsured Tennesseans off the Tenn Care, TN's version of Medicaid, a few years back so that he could balance the budget. He not only had tens of thousands of poor and working poor people thrown off Tenn Care, he also signed into law a hike in the sales tax in TN to pay for the health care that the poor and working poor could not longer get. Now, a few years after he gutted Tenn Care and raised our state sales tax, we have a projected state surplus of $600 million. Do you think he'll give that back to us, the people he tossed off Tenn Care? Hell no. He didn't reduce the sales tax after he gutted Tenn Care, so why the hell should he give back the budget surplus? Gov. Bredesen, seen above with the only thing that could stand to be next to his odious ass, welcome to the Hall of Douchebag Shame, though we kind of feel bad calling you a douchebag because compared to you, regular douchebags are upstanding people.

Fidelity Investments richly deserves it's place in the Douchebaggery Hall of Shame for this:

Shout out to my man at Quaker Agitator for keeping Darfur on our minds every day.
Quakers like him are the only people who give Christianity a good name.

Profiles In Douchebaggery #1

Our Congressman, the Dishonorable David "Douchebag" Davis, not only voted to sustain our idiot in chief's veto on the Iraq war spending bill, he also voted against the recent hate crimes bill.

We've met the elfin Davis back a few weeks ago in a misguided effort to make him see things sanely. He told us that while he does not support the idiot in chief on everything, he would remain steadfast in support of the war on Iraq.

And so for all these reasons, and make no mistake, we're sure there are more, we are proud to make David Davis, the Congressman from Tennessee's 1st Congressional District, the first person profiled in Profiles In Douchebaggery.
UPDATE: We here at Monkey Muck HQ just sent Rep. Davis an email letting him know he won the honor of being the first person profiled in this recurring feature. We'll keep you posted if he gets back to us.
