Christmas Special 2012: It's an awfully Antipodean Christmas (or Holiday down under!)

That's right people, it's time for my annual Christmas special and this year it's, aside from me, all antipodean!  Why?  Because it's my fucking special and I'll do it with who I want, where I want.  You're not the boss of me goddamn it, especially at Christmas time.  I do what I want.  And this year after watching so many Aussie imports on Netflix and HuluPLUS, I decided I wanted to spend this Christmas special with as many hot antipodean honeys as I could.  So tune in this weekend and you'll see me and Alison Bell under the mistletoe.
We'll be kissing and doing a duet of the classic Aussie Christmas tune, 'It's beginning to look a lot like Bogans.'
Next up the lovely Celia Paquola will snowball me in front of a crowd of half naked drunken elves.

After a brief shower, I'll unwrap Madeleine West and give her a Yule log she won't soon forget.

Anna Hutchison will join us for a rousing version of 'I saw Santa's Billabong in Mommy's Didgeridoo.'
After a word from our sponsors, Schlubby Soda, Graham's Reindeer Crackers (now with 10% more dried reindeer organs!), and Vaginal Intrusion Brand Sanitary Pads, Asher Keddie and I will conspire while we shit by the fire.
Of course I'll need a shower after that, so I'll soap up and get dirty with Jane Harber while parolees from an unnamed prison in Tasmania watch.

Once I'm all dried and dressed again, Jenna Lind joins me for bit of slap and tickle in a punch bowl full of wassail, after which we're sure to be arrested on public drunkenness charges, so I'll call

Simone Kessell to bail me out and she'll arrive in Santa's sleigh wearing nothing but goodwill towards men.  After I check her for crocodile bites in all her private places, we'll swing by and pick up
the lovely Georgina Haig and we'll drive her into the new year.

So yeah, this looks to be my best Christmas special yet, so join me, my cast of awesome antipodean babes, my house band, Mojo Nixon and the Toadliquors, and let us all help you ring in the holiday season in style!

TV reviews

Pramface is a sweetly funny very winning slice of life comedy about a horny teenager who sneaks in to a party, runs in to a beautiful drunk girl who is on her way to a promising college career, has sex with her, and gets her pregnant.  Turns out he's 16 and she's 18, which is a huge difference when you're that age.  The show follows the fallout of their coupling and pregnancy and it's effects on them, their friends, and their families.  It's a very sharp and witty show with great performances all around, especially from Scarlett Alice Johnson as the pregnant young woman and Yasmin Paige as the wanna be girlfriend of the young male lead.  The good news is there is a second series of this show in production now.

Laid is laugh out loud funny show about a young woman with a peculiar problem.  It's not that she can't get laid, she can and does have a good bit of sex, but it turns out all the men she has had sex with at one time or another have died very prematurely.  They literally are dropping like flies and once she figures out the connection, she goes to all kinds of lengths to try and stop it.  The comedy of awkwardness triumphs in this show and what makes it even better than your usually good Aussie comedy, is that it's female centric.  Yes the female lead, the always luscious Alison Bell, is a hetero female who has sex with men, but the thing is it's about her, it's not really about the guys she's slept with.

The aforementioned Alison Bell as Roo shines as the lead in this series.  She's beautiful, funny, and her reactions to having to tell her story are priceless.  Celia Pacquola, as her roommate and best friend EJ, is a winner as well.  She jumps in and tries to solve the mystery of her friend's killer vagina while she navigates a tricky relationship with her annoying boyfriend, played to perfection by Toby Truslove.

If this series had been done by a network in the USA it would have been unwatchable because it would have had none of the nuance or different degrees of humor that this series has.  I can't recommend Pramface and Laid highly enough.

Both are on Hulu and HuluPLUS.

Brunette of the week

Making her second appearance as brunette of the week is the awesome
 antipodean actress

 Alison Bell.
I'm just now getting to see her in all her glory in the Aussie comedy Laid.  She's swoon worthy in it and everything else she does.
