Spring in bloom

I feel sorry for you people who don't have dogwood trees where you live. They are spectacular when they bloom out in spring.

You should most definitely feel sorry for me!! Gorgeous landscaping where you are.

We have them, but they won't bloom for a few more weeks. Can you feel my seething jealously??

I won't sully your beautiful photos by telling you about the mountain of snow in my yard. I would much rather think about flowering dogwood.

I grew up in good old North Carolina the Dogwood is our state tree or bush or something. I remember how pretty they were in the spring, but more importantly I recall how when I was bad (which was often) I was forced to go and "cut my own switch" to be beat with! So there's that.

Pretty. Do the blooms have a strong scent?

Yes, I miss the dogwoods and the redbuds and the flowering cherry in my old backyard. Somehow, the desert trees don't cut it like the ones back home...
