Yep, you heard me. He said,
"We're
making
progress in Iraq."
making
progress in Iraq."
Of course this news was like manna from heaven to the beleaguered Iraqi people. They immediately took to the streets to celebrate our "progress."
I have no idea how much more "progress" we or the peoples of Iraq and Afghanistan can stand. I'm not sure about you, but I've had my fill of progress. Let's impeach those bastards and bring our people home.

In his book about the disasterous Operation Marketgarden, "A Bridge Too Far," Cornelius Ryan quotes, at the end of the book, British General Montgomery, who was the architect of the unbelievably flawed campaign, which ended up not only in resounding defeat, but in thousands of Allied casualties, and a lot of suffering for the people of the Netherlands, as saying something to the effect of "All told, I'd say the operation was 90% successful." He then quotes the Netherlands' Prince Bernard (who had actually participated in the operation) as saying "My country can ill-afford another Montgomery 'success.'"
Hmmm... I sense a post here...
Saw a great bumpersticker today:
If North Korea builds an atomic bomb, Bush will invade Venezuela.
I just knew we had moved past the starting line!
Johnny-Fucking crazy ain't it?
Beth-It's a good thing he wasn't Prez during WW2.
Mark-Try to keep up man, Bush is crafty baby.
