Surge over here, or Dude, where's my money?

While our troops die in the useless surge in Iraq, and thousands of Iraqi's die as well, a different kind of surge takes place here at home. From the AP:

CAMARILLO, Calif. - Gasoline prices have surged to a record nationwide average of $3.07 per gallon, nearly 20 cents higher than two weeks earlier, oil industry analyst Trilby Lundberg said Sunday. The previous record was $3.03 per gallon on Aug. 11, 2006.

We're at war to safe guard the flow of oil, so why the hell is gas so high? High gas prices cripple our economy, they hit the poor and middle class worse than they do the rich and well off, plus when gas prices are high like the are now the greedy oil companies profits run through the roof. Can we get any member of the Bush family to comment?

Gee, thanks Jenna.
