My blog is this many years old now

I started writing this blog in the last days of the Bush/Cheney debacle that brought our country to the brink of financial ruin.  It looked like those crooks were never going to go, and then we got saddled with a little better class of crook, one who gave us a little of what we demanded but who still kept the worst parts of the past administration.

So I've been railing here ever since.

Sure, I toss in the odd review, the pop culture appreciation post, and the one liner every now and again, but my meat and potatoes is skewering the rich, the pompous, and the willfully stupid.  I do it with sarcasm, withering critiques, and gallows humor, because that's the best kind of humor.  I add photos of hot brunettes, fiery Latinas, and smokin' hot British babes because I'm a guy and I like looking at pretty women.

It's been a great five years on this blog.  I love writing it.  I love all the friends I've made writing it and  I appreciate all the commenters and those who read but never comment.  I don't post with the same frequency I did in the first few years but I still look forward to coming up with new posts and sharing things about my mundane life.

It's been a pleasure and if nothing else, at least I've kept myself entertained for five years.  Let's shoot for five more, shall we?

This blog is now this many

My blog turns five years old today.

Five years seems like forever but it's barely the time it takes you to blink, even less as a matter of fact. It's been fun, maddening, and very rewarding to have kept this blog going for five years. I've met some of the nicest, smartest, funniest people through this blog and I'm grateful for all of them and for you dear reader. I've only encountered a few assholes and I've only had to ban a few people from commenting. I've met and made some great and true friends in real life through my blog and I'm super grateful for that.

I have no intention of stopping writing this blog because I doubt I'll ever run out of things to say or bitch about. Thanks to all of you who read, who lurk, and who comment. You make this all so much fun and rewarding.

Here's to the first five years and to five more and five more and five more and five more after that!

The terrible twos

It's my two year blogaversary today! Yay me!
Lil' babies know that I've been pumping out blog bullshit for two years now.


Super models like Heidi Klum know I've been stirring the political pot with my posts for the past two years now.
Hot chicks in black know I've been making folks laugh for two years now.



Puckered up gals who take their own photo know I've been pissing off the powers that be, right wingers, and thin skinned punks for two years now.


But what about hipster chicks with bad dye jobs who hold Crunky bars? Do they know how long I've been blogging?

Nope. Oh well, four out of five groups know how long I've been blogging now. And so do you. Thanks for reading and for commenting. I'd like to say I come up with all of this stuff to please you, but I actually don't. I come up with it to please me, and if you all like it too, then that's gravy baby.

It's fitting that on my two year blogaversary that something super keen, special, and blog related is going to happen to me later today. I'm not going to tell you what it is just yet, but I will tell you that it will be a first for me and I'm super stoked about it. If we're all lucky there'll be photos of the event in a later post. And maybe even a cupcake or two. Or maybe not. Stay tuned.
