Truth and the Greens who don't want to hear it

I pissed off a bunch of Green party numbskulls by saying that Jill Stein needs to step away from her leadership position in the Green Party.  She's been rejected, rather soundly in fact, in the last two presidential elections, she's got no real governmental experience, and it's time for a new face to lead that party in 2020.  Green party supporters came out of the woodwork to denounce me for telling the truth.  Some insisted that Stein isn't the leader of the party because it's a grassroots party that only nominated her to run for president, twice.  I tried to explain to them that she may not be the literal leader but she is surely the de facto leader.  They howled that I should shut up.  I replied by saying that they did not know the meaning of the phrase 'de facto.'

But honestly, fuck them.  I'll vote Justice in 2020.  They can stay the tiny little boutique party for disaffected Democrats who secretly long for the days when the Clintons ran everything.  I'm done with that bullshit.  I want real change, not anymore of that Republican Lite.

The things people say

If you say that you support the Green party because of its stance on fighting for world peace, fighting the effects of manmade climate change, and because of how it fights for the human rights of all people, including the Palestinians, but you can't bring yourself to vote for them on election day because you're afraid if you do then Buffoon Trump might win, then you don't really support the Green party and it's stance on the issues.  You are, like most every other Democrat, a coward who will always find an excuse to never vote for a third party.

If you say you want third parties to break through and break the stranglehold that the two main parties have on our system but you refuse to publicly support and vote for a third party, then you're a coward who wants the status quo to remain the same.

Just be honest with your self and with the rest of us and admit that you have fallen for the old line that you can work to make a change within the Democratic party.  Go on, say it.  But know that you'll be wrong because the Democratic party is where social movements go to die. You know I'm right, history has shown it time and time again.

Me, I'm voting Green and I proudly support Dr. Jill Stein for President.  I'm not a coward who thinks that the same party that rejects my attempts to reform it will accept any change whatsoever.  Both parties are in love with corporate cash and neither will work to over turn the horrendous Citizens United case.  That's fact.

Believe it or not

True story, I know the Green Party candidate in the current TN gubernatorial election. 

Her name is Isa Infante and I met her through some Theatre Central buddies in the mid 1990's. She gave me a lift one night to the improv show in Knoxville and then she up and left after the show and I had to bum a ride home. She called me the next day to apologize for leaving me and I accepted her apology. I told her it wasn't a problem and that I got a ride home easily. The next day she called me back and said she didn't think her apology was sincere enough so she wanted to apologize to me again and she wanted to loan me her car. Again I accepted her apology and she drove over and let me borrow her car for a few days.
