Haha...Beth just told me about this. I was less surprised about this news than I was when I found out (again, very recently) that they were still making records. But apparently, their last album got good reviews. That doesn't mean I'm going to run out and buy it though. I have Morning Glory. If you've heard that, you've pretty much heard them all.
Ah, it must be time to draw attention to the ol' back catalog again.
Quick story - right before these oiks cracked the Big Time, they were playing a smaller venue at a show I was at and somebody threw a Capezio slipper indiscriminately at the stage three songs in. Didn't hit anyone, but the band took a powder and scampered away without coming back...no refunds, minor riot ensuing.
By comparison, at a Motorhead show over ten years earlier I saw Eddie Clarke take a weighty projectile thrown from the crowd full in the face, rendering him down and out onstage for almost five minutes but when he recovered the band played on - the only lasting damage done being to the thrower who found himself on the hurting end of some disapproving audience participation.
Holy CRAP! That is exactly what I thought, but apparently they even had a gig in France on their schedule. (it seems the French have no taste in rock either.)

OH CRAP! I think all this time I should have been ignoring OASIS I was ignoring OASIS. Thanks for setting me straight.
