We been wrong for 2k years, no time to start being right now.
--- Which leads me to believe that since they said that for 2000 years the Church has taught that marriage 1 man and 1 woman, what about how they DIDN'T say that before hand? When it was about 1 man and a buncha women? So if God was wrong then and they changed their minds, maybe they could change their minds again? How many mulligans will they give God on this question? Let's at least hope for two.
Better yet, let's just ignore God and do the right thing for a change. Let's really practice human rights, with love and compassion. There but for the grace of...somebody...go I. Compassion and empathy are my guiding principles, unless you're a gun toting wingnut.
Give the old priests a break, they’re busy trying to make the world safe for heterosexuals while The Gays try to seduce our children and undermine our family values. Since the priests can’t screw chicks, all they have is each other (and the occasional altar boy). Hypocrisy is such a harsh word. I prefer situational ethics, wherein: “decision-making should be based upon the circumstances of a particular situation, and not upon fixed Law. The only absolute is Love. Love should be the motive behind every decision. As long as Love is your intention, the end justifies the means.”
Utah said it quite well, I agree. The one statement in the article, "The official Catholic teaching 'needs to be reinforced often..'" OH REALLY!! Does that mean some are not listening? Maybe they will indoctrinate with waterboarding to make their point. Scary bunch of hypocrites.
Utah had it right. I mean, why waste time trying to feed and clothe the hungry when you can spew hate and deny people basic rights based on an antiquated, human-based religious philosophy? Pshah!
Now now people...you really can't blame them. They need 'opposite marriage' to produce all those sweet and juicy alter boys for the consumption. Those third world orphanages are drying up and without a fresh supply how can Fathers Touchy and Feely function as the moral leaders in our communities?
The celibacy requirement has self-selected for some nasty oddities, to put it mildly...The Russian Orthodox and Greek Orthodox priests are allowed to marry, and you never hear about sex scandals in those religions.

I wonder what the Catholic Church will do when it can't even come close to numerically replacing its aging priesthood.
