mnmom - Northern MN, around Lutsen and on up through the Gunflit Trail is indeed spectacular! And Interstate Park near Taylors Falls, and the St. Croix around Winona. Having lived 4 years here now, and 21 in Minnesota, I have to say they are both glorious. Being in the mountains though is something, indeed. Enjoy whichever one you happen to be in, I guess!
When it comes to scenic views, they don't get much better than they do around here in eastern Tennessee.

My favorite thing is to be up in the hills on the snowmobile trails - lots of snow on the ground, a sunny day, turn around and look down at that lake!
But I suppose if you don't like cold - like WM and I do, then...
