Cash back

Here's Johnny! And he's doing one of my favorite songs of his ever. I was addicted to this song when I was a kid. I'd insist I get to listen to it all the way through when it came on the radio or on TV and I throw a fit if anyone tried to turn it off. It's one of the greatest story songs ever.

This song has always had special meaning for me, since my dad's name was "Doris". Sadly, he died too young and never really got the chance to duke it out with Grandma over it. *sigh*

My 22 cousins and I (told you I have trailer trash in my DNA) memorized that song and we'd sing it every chance. The aunts and uncles always had Mr. Cash on the gigantic stereo.

That song was written by Shel Silverstein. The Giving Tree and Where the Sidewalk Ends author.

Just FYI.

Much alcohol has been consumed by me with 'ring of fire' playing in the background.

I also like the song about building a car from parts stolen from the Chevy plant.

Jess named one of my favorite Johnny Cash songs, "One Piece at a Time." I also love "Big River" and "Tennessee Stud."

Snad-I went to high school with a guy named Doris. It was bizarre.

MnMom-Oh how I loved the gigantic stereo.

Jess-"One Piece At A Time" is a great song.

Dguzman-"Hey Porter" and some of his early stuff is great too.
