Yes, it was a clip on

Don't I look lovely in my little suit that I wore to my first communion party in 1970?
Why yes, yes I do.
Oh yeah, FYI, I tore ass into that cake but I was too freaked out to eat the cross on it. The nuns however had no such reservations.

(I finished scanning my old family photos and I tossed them up onto Flickr. You can see them here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8950947@N07/sets/72157601144544727/)

Look at that sweet innocent little face all excited about that moment in life. I love it!

The cross was the best part. Except for the splinters.

I love love love this photo. I have got to get my scanning project started.

Shit, I have to finish a certain noir mystery book too. That will come first!

I love your glasses!

I'm laughing about your being freaked out about eating the cross--I would've been too. I'll have to get my first communion pics from my mom sometime. Oh dear, me in a dress.

Oh man, was a cutie!

Great photos, there are some real gems in there. I like the diner booth with the soldiers the best!

Nice cake.
I want some cake.
Damn you, Monkey- tempting me with cake.

See, that's what's missing with today's youth. Parents nowadays don't dress up their young like little businessmen.

And tell that kid to look out--Santa's giving his cake the big eye.

Great photo! You're dressed almost exactly like I dress now, except for the glasses.

Ha! That suit reminds me of a photo of one of my cousins. He's standing next to his mom, who is seated, and his arm is draped around her leg. But he's wearing his little man suit and the camera is at such an odd angle, it looks like my aunt is being felt up by a midget.

Really great photos! Looking at your photos reminds me of some of my family's photos that my mom has. Makes me a little bit sad, but it sure is nice to have remembrances of those who have past.

Is that Jesus's bithday cake?

You're so cute, I would gobble you up rather than the damn cross.

I remember seeing an article in a humor rag a long time ago in which they compared what Santa did for trees vs. what Jesus did and showed a cross and a decorated christmas tree. I think they were saying that Santa was god's preferred son or something. Guess ya had to be there.

The Flicker pictures were so bittersweet, I actually have a tear in my eye.

It's funny how I take my family for granted, but when I see these photos, I am reminded of how precious they are to me.

And how funny we all used to dress (sorry, maudlin does not suit me)

Pissed-I was quite the cutie, wasn't I?

Fran-Get on it.

Dguzman-Watch it, I already had too many taunts about my glasses.

Whiskey-Mmmm, cake.

Bubs-I ditched that look in favor of Hang Ten brand T shirts and Levis.

Kirby-Your aunt should be so lucky, midgets are great lovers.

Fran-I ruled 3rd grade, well me and Sister Margaret Mary.

Micgar-Thanks.

Liberality-You better give that Santa back to Saint Monica's. It's not nice to steal from a church. :)

Freida-I'm good with hot sauce.

Devilham-I've learned to dress myself a bit more since those days.

Oh my gosh, I just noticed the little Santa thingie on the wall--I used to drive past this house on my way to and from work, and they had that little Santa out on their porch. I LOVED that Santa, with his little sideways leer! Then the next xmas, Santa was gone! I actually stopped, knocked on their door, and asked them WTF happened to Santa, and they said they'd thrown him away because he was too old! I was crushed. I would've taken him! Liberality, you be sure to hang on to that little gem, okay?

And I meant that I actually dig those specs, man!

Dguz-I know what you meant I was just giving you a hard time hon. :)

I would just like to point out that you and dguzman were of the "oooh don't eat the cross" variety of kid and I was not.

And now you two are atheists and I am still...

Shit.
