Very fine video, but I'm not surprised. While, I liked Bill Clinton on balance, I had to pass 1996 because I was just so disgusted with THE EFFECTIVE DEATH PENALTY ACT and "WELFARE REFORM". Of course, you know Hillary Clinton and Al Gore won the day on those issues with THE BIG DOG, besting Ickes and Jordan. I passed GORE 2000, too. It was decided for me in the summer. I had never liked Gore's rhetoric. His Mid-East proposals seemed far in excess of anything Bush had been "saying" and I had always thought that EARTH IN THE BALANCE was kind of a Thomas Friedman-style sell-out. I was ready to go for Gore. The short list for VP had been Bayh, Edwards, Kerry and Lieberman. I said I'll bite down hard and go for Gore so long as he doesn't do something really dumb like pick Lieberman. Y'all know the rest. It was with many, many reservations I voted for Kerry in 2004, despite knowing he was done when he showed up on stage at the convention in that tin soldier outfit. I don't live in the United States anymore, so I cannot vote in my former state's primary. I would have voted for Kucinich.
I am a man on a mission, however. It is to stop Barack Obama at all costs. As spot on as the video here is, with Senator Clinton I know what I'm getting. A moderate Republican who will probably keep the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan going through her re-election but will be a more responsible steward of the office of the president than these folks have been (that's HYPO-BOLIC, yes). That's the devil I know. The devil I don't know is Barack Obama, but when you add it all up: the right-wing sermon at the '04 convention, his votes with Bush on Bankruptcy and Coal Emissions, his whatever you want to call it with regard to Terry Schiavo, his blatant homophobia as he makes the Church rounds, his close friendship with James Dobson and Joe Lieberman, his Iraq and health care plans which bear a striking resemblance to Mr. Bush's, and his eager capitualtion to all things religious and Republican make him to me THE MOST DISGUSTING CANDIDATE of every single Democrat or Republican. It's a lonely mission I'm on. David Sirota seems to be the only journalist who agrees with me on this, and Democrats can sometimes be a little too shall we say "PC" for their own good.
And speaking of "PC", thanks so much for the link to "jewgirl". Her site is perfect. Thanks also for help finding good high stakes cash Omaha bulletin boards.
Keep up the good work. Do some research on Obama and if you tend to agree with me, help me with this.
