The French artist Jean Giraud aka Moebius passed away after a battle with cancer. He's best known in this country for all his comic book art in the magazine
Heavy Metal, which he co-founded. He was one of my favorite artist who worked in the comic book medium. His work in
Heavy Metal astounded me when I first saw in the late 1970's. I'll always associate delicate looking people wearing conical hats with him, as well as tasteful nudes. His blend of sci fi and fantasy art was one of a kind. He'll be missed by me and many others.
