Overheard in the grocery store last night

A clueless looking guy in the produce department on his cell phone said, "Dang it. I tell ya what, I'm just gonna git some green onions cuz it don't look like they got any scallions."

Hahaha... probably his wife was on the phone saying, "NO! not green onions, I need scallions!"

That's priceless.

Maybe he's not clueless; maybe he's just lucky.

Was he at least cute?

I'd hate for him to have absolutely nothing going for him.

LOL, very good. I guess as long as he got the right stuff it won't matter!

Poor guy probably also had to substitute grits for polenta and noodles for pasta.

Kirby's comment is hilarious! (Monkey, I hope you took pity on this guy and told him what's what.)

My daddy used to call em table onions and would pour salt on his plate and would proceed to dip his table onion into the salt and eat the whole thing...greens and all. Lovely...I just cherish those memories.

The other end of the call was probably just as good:
"Dang it, babe! I'm just trying to follow the recipe. I hope it isn't ruint! Your mama already doesn't like me!"

Heehee. I once watched an old lady got on the bus with leeks sticking out of the top of her grocery bag, and the other old ladies whispered and stared until she told them what they were.
