I loved him on Pee-Wee's Playhouse and SNL and News Radio.
There will always be a soft spot in my heart for the fake commercial for "Colon Blow", if I may do a truly awful job of mixing metaphors about bodily functions.
I virtually dropped The Simpson's, like an anal-retentive nun drops a dirty habit. All of Hartman's characters picked the middle of the show up, especially Troy McClure.
I hope Brynn Hartman rots in the foulest pit of Hell, all she had to do was fleece him in a divorce.
Hand to Archie- I was JUST thinking about him the other day!
I was thinking about domestic violence and all the fringe things that go along with it and prevent people from escaping it (alcoholism, love, hope, mental illness, children, fear, economic stability, history, self esteem, lack of support, etc).
I was also thinking of how hard it is for loved ones to intervene or for people outside that world to understand it ("Why doesn't she just leave the bastard?!?!?"- as if it was that simple.)
I thought of stories in our local news and then I thought of him and his wife and wondered where their children were now and what a loss.
I guess I am a downer commenter, but really was, and I really wish there was more to do to help!
Me too! I loved the SNL skit when he played Clinton dropping in to a McDonald's during his jog, and eating folks' french fries. NEWS RADIO was my favorite.
I ended up going to the old wikipedia and finding out: "Brynn's sister, Katharine Wright, and her husband, Mike, who have no children of their own, are raising the Hartmans' children in Edina, Minnesota."
Mere miles from my home! I promise not to stalk them now.
I hope they are doing all right, all things considered.
Well, the kids could do worse than become Cake Eaters.
I was never a big fan of his, but that was an awful end. And I'm not talking about him being replaced by Jon Lovitz. Although, come to think of it, that was really bad, too.

Me too, man.
me too!
*so imagine me trying to post a comment this morning...I smack my hand on the kitchen counter and whine*
I knooooow. What a shamme.
Me too. He was even funnier on "News Radio" than he was on SNL. The "Rocket Fuel Malt Liquor" episode was one of the funniest things ever on TV.

CDP-That episode of New Radio was indeed one of the best ones they did.

thank you Missy for stating that which needs stating but which no one seems to consider much, if at all.
Thanks Liberality.

Oh, yeah. There's a gaping hole in my heart where Troy McClure once lived.
Oh, we all do. Imagine what he would have done if he lived till the end of Chimpy's reign of error. The mind boggles.

Hear, hear.
His Clinton impersonation was the best.
