I've actually been trying to stop saying that phrase for some time now. I'll admit it's hard because in our hetero culture the use of that phrase is almost embedded in us from the womb. I know I'll feck up and use it again but I promise you my gay brothers and sisters, I'll do my best to try to stamp it out.

I love Wanda....she rocks!!!
I too love Wanda. She does indeed rock!!!
Thanks for posting this. I often call someone stupid or cowardly a pussy. I'm a woman. WTF?? I should be pussy proud. I am changing my ways. I have in the past suggested that a woman needed to grow a pair, or get some stones, or get ballsy. What bullshit. I know a lot of cowardly men. Got to think the whole use of language thing again.
I've busted some folks a couple of times for using that term. I like her response. I think I'll try something like that the next time!
Utah: I knew a guy once who said "she's got ovaries" in the same way he used "he's got balls." It really makes you think.
That expression has been around since I was in Fifth grade. I'm glad people are becoming aware of it now.
Holy shit I love Wanda!! "Knock it off!" That's awesome. Yep, that term's been around since I was a kid and I'm in my 40's. It's time to go. Like Utah, I've become very aware of some of these sayings and terms, and I never say "he/she has balls" for the same reason as stated above. I also don't like when folks call a man a woman as an insult! What the hell's up with that??
I don't have major issues with others using these phrases or words (for the most part) and it does depend in which context.
But like Wanda said, I'm working to "Knock it off!"
Wiser words have never been spoken. I spose that rules out "queer ass", too. Just kidding.
BRAVO!
yay, wanda!
love it!!! i'm going to stop this phrase and replace it with "Man, that is so long-jean skirt wearing, big blonde bun, one of many wives."
Go Wanda! Glad to see this issue getting more attention (I blogged about it a while back, you'll recall). Drives me effing INSANE. When I overhear it, I usually speak really loudly and say something is "so straight!" and then look right at them until they get it. Wanda's approach is even better.
Wanda has always been one of my favorite comedians (even before she came out--who knew?)!
I guess the folks at SNL never saw this PSA. Come check out my short rant SNL=Saturday Night Lame. Shame on them for the Rachel Maddow spoof. She's so gay, that's so funny, yeah right.
Wanda's one of my favorite comedians! I always hated that saying! WTF? It's stupid. When we younger we said-"that sucks!" or "that's f'd up!"
