Goodbye and good riddance

Hey you Hillary supporters who refuse to get behind Sen. Obama and who are threatening to leave the Democratic party now, please allow me to show you the door. And when you go through it, don't let it hit your ass on the way out.

A bigger bunch of whiny selfish ingrates have never ever walked the earth. After it became clear the Sen. Obama had wrapped up the nomination, after Sen. Clinton told her supporters that she is behind Obama and they should be too, and after one of Clinton's biggest supporters in the blogosphere, Taylor Marsh, said she was going to back Obama in order to show her support for Hillary and the Democratic party, a tiny vocal minority still refuses to get in the big tent and get behind Obama. Here's the facts for you delusional whiners:
  • Obama is going to be the nominee.
  • Hillary has made her peace with it.
  • The Obama campaign has the backing of millions of diverse people across this country and he's gaining more ever day.

But you know what? This country still has a modicum of freedom and you can vote for who you like, or you can choose not to vote. It's up to you. You can vote for McCain and get what you've gotten the past 7 years and possibly worse. Or you can vote for Ralph Nader, and if we're being honest here Ralph has done more to make our lives safer and better than any major party politician ever did, including Obama and Clinton. Or you can vote for Cynthia McKinney, who by the way I really admire for her willingness to speak truth to power. Or you can vote for Bob Barr, the flip flopping Libertarian candidate who wants to take us back to the '70's, the 1770's. Or you can vote for anyone else on the ballot in your state. But if McCain somehow wins and his anti female and anti middle and working class tendencies take over and we all get shafted yet again, don't you dare bitch and moan.

The fact is now that the only candidate in the race with any realistic chance of getting elected who will do the most good for the biggest amount of people in this country is Barack Obama. Was the primary fight long and bloody? Yes. Were things said that hurt your feelings? Yes. Were some in the media sexist? Yes. Is it time to get over the loss of your candidate and come together to work for the person who is going to do the most good for the biggest amount of people? Hell yes.

So to the whiners like the person who had the gall to blog under the name "The Divine Democrat" (from her comments that I've seen on other blogs, she's neither of those things) and the people who claim that Obama's position on gay marriage (which by the way is identical to Hillary Clinton's) should somehow knock him out of getting the nomination and the delusional people who claim that Obama is just like George Bush, you all need to know that when this manbecomes our next President, he'll be the President of all the citizens of the United States of America, and not just the President of the rich white people like George Bush is. You may not ever vote for him but he'll work for you just the same.

And here's one final thing you bitter political naifs need to know, your votes won't be missed if you don't vote for Obama because his team is out building a country wide organization and they are organizing block by block and they are registering thousands upon thousands of new voters who will more than make up for you. So you people can stay pissed off and you can keep writing delusional blog posts and you can leave the Democratic party en masse for all I care, because the plain and simple truth is you are going to be left behind when the Obama tsunami hits this country come November.

If they thought Obama supporters were sexist, wait until they get a load of the Republicans.

Hillary's diehards jumping to McCain. In a way, we're seeing the Democratic equivalent of Bush's 24-percenters.

Well said.

For years now we've had to watch Republicans throw tantrums by holding their breath and rolling around on the floor until they get their way.

I'll be damned if I'm going to put up with that with regards to people that are supposedly on our side of the aisle.

If you think the petulant act of voting for McCain will somehow "show" those of us who didn't support Clinton for the nomination, then you need to grow the fuck up.

If you're supporting McCain then you're the enemy. Period.

This is more important that you guys and your feelings.

Jesus.

From what I can tell from the few Demos that are sayin they would switch-they were "centrist" demos at best, or really conservative dems. Do we really need these Lieberman or Zell Miller type "dems"?

The way I see it, a vote for McCain is a vote for stupidity (unless you're a rich bastard, then it's a vote for stupidity and greed), no matter what you think of Obama. At least Obama is pretending to care about the little guy. McCain is nothing more than an anal sphincter, to put it nicely. I, myself, have a number of reservations about Obama, but, if the election were held today, I'd vote for Obama if it looked like Wisconsin was going to be a close race. On the other hand, if it looked like it was going to be a blow-out for either candidate, I'd vote for Nader. No way in hell would I ever vote for McCain. No. Way. In. Hell. Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Re: your invitation to leave, thanks. I got out just before the door hit me in the ass. Not voting for McCain either. There ARE other choices you know you idiot. Thanks for making it so nice and cosy in the Democrat kitchen.
