Here's the email I sent to both my asshole Republican Senators:
I hope you can sleep easy tonight knowing you kept your corporate paymasters in the oil business safe from having to pay taxes. You should be ashamed of yourself for not voting to tax the greedy oil companies while millions of people suffer as a result of their price gouging.
I suggest you apologize for your behavior and that you resign from the Senate the moment you receive this.
I'll be posting any repsonse you might give regarding this email on my blog so I'd choose my words very carefully if you choose to respond to this email.

Emails don't cut it for me--they never reply. I call them both regularly and they hang up on me frequently. Lamar plays the piano while big oil robs us... and I keep calling.
I just wish I knew the magic formula to get people to finally rise up against oppression.
Because obviously, it takes an awful lot.
I hope the public remembers this in November. Remembers who sucked up to big oil and who had the American people's best interest at heart.
I hope that the Democrats are smart enough to use this and use it relentlessly between now and November. If I was running the Obama campaign, or any Democratic Senate campaign, I'd have ads on the air immediately.
What really gauled me about this was the repugs' simplistic bullshit "argument" against the bill, claiming it was "just a gimmick." They always come up with some moronic buzz-phrase like that and repeat it ad nauseum. The dems need to adopt this same strategy, using words like "impeachment," "murderers," "frauds" and the like to describe these assholes.
And this all happens with such complicit media. No mention on CNN, MSNBC, USA Today, etc.
Grrr.
