If you can or want, give to a charity that will help those people out directly instead of giving to the Red Cross.

I'm still standing
Thanks to those of you who asked if we were all right after the tornadoes that swept through here yesterday. As you can see from the map Monkey Central was well out of the range of those twisters, so Sparky and I are just fine. The mountains around here protect us from things like tornadoes, they do happen from time to time around here but for the most part they dissipate when they hit the lovely mountains here in eastern TN. My heart goes out to the folks who were affected by the storms in the western part of our state and I fear for the speedy revocery of that area because I heard that our idiot President was going to do everything he could to help them recover, just like he's helped the people in New Orleans I bet.

Phew. Bossy came over here to see if you made out alright. Phew phew phew.
Whew! Glad your Monkey self is okay.
But hey--Georgie's praying for them!
I am glad you are safe. What a shocking storm system!
Have you elaborated on the Red Cross before? Is there somewhere I should go to read more? I donate blood and plasma to them...should I reconsider?
Aha! You have given away the location to another of your evil Monkerstein Power Pagodas!
Glad you're OK! Fortify the bunker, as it appears that Dr. Zaius has learned of its location.
Good thing you're doing well. I'll send some Daleks out from Mars to patrol the perimeter in case of Zaius, although I'm sure you'll hear his signature wheezing and fumbling long before he gets there.
Man, those have to be the least comforting words in the world: Bush is going to do everything he can to help them recover.
I have a red cross story.
My uncle served in the army during WWII. People knitted mittens for the soldiers and donated them to the Red Cross.
The Red Cross thoughtfully sold them to the soldiers for a reduced cost.
Wasn't that nice of them?
glad to hear your okay. I was worried about all the bloggers down south, including DCup in Georgia. The Red Cross paid for our hotel stay in Washington D.C. after 9/11 when my brother-in-law was laid to rest in Arlington. So they at least did something right, huh.
To us massive northern plains states, you smaller states look like, well, neighborhoods.
Wow! What with the wacky weather we were having here, I didn't even hear about the tornadoes until today. I'm glad to hear you're okay and sad for those who aren't.
We must remember to install a storm celler in the Monkey Power Pagoda.
Glad to hear you are doing fine!
