Better late than never

The only thing Sparky told me she wanted for Christmas this year was a tag for the fron of her car that had a positive message on it. So being the lazy boyfriend that I am I waited until the last week of shopping to go look for one for her. I found a great picture by Picasso of a dove clutching some flowers and I tried to get the guy at the mall who does custom tags to put it on a tag for me. He told me it would be about three or four weeks because he'd have to send it off. I declined his offer and I prepared for the fall out of not getting her the one thing she specifically asked for.

Luckily she didn't get mad at me because I am a good gift giver, I usually find unexpected gifts that she wanted all along but would never have bought for herself. But since I didn't get her that tag I felt kind of bad. And it stayed with me that niggling feeling that I had let her down.

Fast forward to yesterday. We were out and about on our usual Saturday jaunt/errand running trip and we decided to stop by a local indoor flea market. We were perusing the many and vaired goods for sale and we happened upon a booth where a woman was making custom car tags. We asked if she had anything like a peace sign tag or a recyclying symbol tag for sale. The woman showed us a peace sign decal that she could print off and stick on a tag. Sparky liked the decal and she picked out a bright blue tag on which the bright white decal would go on. Lo and behold, $16 dollars later I finally got her the one thing she'd asked for for Christmas. And here it is: We both really like the way the peace sign pops out at you from the bright blue tag. Here's the full frontal view: Since she won't put bumperstickers or decals on her car this is a very big thing for her. I'm glad we found the tag and if you see it in your rearview mirror when you're driving slowly in the left hand lane, then go on and let the Sparky-mobile pass your ass.

Peace out my homeys.

Better late than never and of it is a thoughtful and wanted gift.

Do you think I could get one with a shot and a beer on it?

Very nice. I prefer bumper stickers because I have so darn much to say.
