I don't even want to know what 1950s-era cookbook these pictures came from!!! EEEEWWWWW!
I tell you that phlem sauce is quite versatile (see comments about Lutefisk in the Herring Tartare post) - much more so than spuzz, which honestly I think should never bee used in sweet dishes.
Gotta say, I'd eat the brown mounds.
Jesus, I just made baked apples last night. I did substitute brown sugar and cinnamon for the, what did you call it? Spuzz sauce?
Just the brown mounds, ma'am.
dr m -- those are rocky mountain oysters
gee, i never thought of doing THAT with a baked apple! i can't wait until i'm home alone again!
My goodness, they were depraved back in 1974! Spuzz-filled baked apples?! Phlem sauce!? Depraved!
It all looks so good! Two slices of everything, please. (Without quite so much phlegm, please.)
Oh-NOOO! My mom made those things for us.
Oh hell, I'll have one of each please.
Whatever is in that apple, it's not one of the recommended apple toppings. Actually, I think it might be Elmer's Glue.
omg i just threw up in my mouth a little
HA HA HA, spuzz! :)Oh Dr M, you are a funny thing!
