This is my last Christmas post this year, I promise!
Every family south of the Mason Dixon line, well every family that's not a collection of stone cold racists or rich Republican/Libertarians that is, can relate to this great Christmas song.
you know, sometimes the only way to win the war on Christmas is to get down in the trenches and fight hand to hand.
MizBubs just reminded me of the tree stand her family had when I met her--it was a collection of metal brackets bolted together and fastened to a pizza tin. It didn't work very well, and the tree-tipping situation was always aggravated by alcohol consumption and overcrowding by the holiday homeless that always crashed there. Not to mention the fighting.
Fortunately or unfortunately that sort of christmas is not exclusive to the south. For a second I thought he was singing about any number of my childhood christmas experiences, except he didn't mention putting the car in the ditch ever year for three years in a row cause dad was schnockered.
