A Dr. Monkey Bi Weekly Project Runway Update

(A word of warning to some readers of this blog, I'm about to get all bitchy up in this post. So if you don't watch this show or you don't want to read me getting all bitchy and catty, then please skip past this post.)

Okay, two weeks ago they did a dreaded team challenge on Project Runway, which they always seem to do when they have an even number of designers left in these early stages, and this guy was leader of one of the teams:
He let Victoria, a far better designer than him in my opinion, walk all over him. He was so into sticking his nose into what his teammates were doing that his dress suffered as a result. As usual it was unfinished and had hems that needed sewn and pins sticking out of it. Oh how I wish he had been kicked off that on that episode. But no, they spared him so he could go on and make yet another baby doll dress or another garment that looks like it could be a piece of lingerie. Is it only me or does he have a different hat for every camera set up? Ok, dude, I get it, wearing hats is your "thing," but please guy, I'm begging you to stick with one or two. And stay away from the mesh hats, no one looks good in those, not even buff gay guys who work out like demons when they aren't sewing another baby doll dress.

This was the guy they kicked off that show that the guy above should have gotten kicked off of. He made a decent looking dress and I thought he should have stayed. But unlike other bloggers I can mention, shout out to Beckeye, I wasn't torn up when he got booted. He did pop back up on the show last week when they sent home this guy due to health reasons:I was pleased to see Chris come back but when I saw the outfit he made for his real life model, the challenge was to make a new outfit out of the old favorite outfit from women who had recently lost large amounts of weight, I wanted to scream. Chris's outfit looked like something Bob Mackie would have made for a hooker type character on the old Carol Burnett show. I laughed out loud when his model put it on. One more misstep like that Chris and your big old booty will be sent home again.
Okay, I admit it. I like to look at this chick, especially when she wears skimpy tops and sun dresses. And I'll admit she made a nice dress for her model in the last episode, but, and this is a huge but, she did not follow the rules of the challenge. She was supposed to make a new outfit out of an old one and she did not do it. She used the old outfit to match color on some fabric and she made a new dress using just a bit of the old outfit for black piping. Yes, the dress looked nice on her model but it was not a dress made from the model's old outfit. She cheated. If I had been a judge I would have bounced her off the show. And then I might have taken her sad fragile crying little self in my monkey arms and I would have comforted her for as long as she needed.
This dude, the only straight male designer on this season, should have won last week's challenge. He made a great looking outfit for his model and she not only loved it she looked drop dead sexy in it. I think he got a raw deal. Dude should have won and I may yet file an appeal with the World Court in the Hague before it's all said and done.
I could not have been happier to see this guy get the boot. He designed an awful dress this past week and he was part of a losing team a few weeks ago. He's also one of those annoying type people who don't open their mouth all the way when they talk.

********

We're now a few weeks into this season's competition now and I can see Victoria and Rami the Israeli making it to the final round. I'm praying that Sweet Pea gets Auf-ed soon just so I don't have to look at her sagging tattoos and I'd like to see the little guy with the bad hair do get axed because I can't stand to hear him misuse the word "fierce" yet again.

Is this season 4? I think it's starting up here on SLICE in January so I'm avoiding reading any and all posts relating to it. Darn it though...sooooo tempting...

Any minute that the chick who spits on the clothes stays on is a minute too long.

Hat boy isn't crying quite as much as he used to. Maybe the hormone shots are working?

Karen-I'm sorry if I spoli anything for you but I gotta post, it's my duty as a pop culture warrior.

Jess-Sparky said last night that every time Spit Girl makes it to another round she looks surprised.

YAY! I think the hat guy only gets to stay because he cries and crying is good tv...but he cries too much.

I am sad about this season so far because I do not seem to care for any of the designers. at. all.

I thought Jillian's red dress not only broke the rules, but it fit that lady oddly...in a not flattering way. Maybe I am being hypercritical.

The Chris guy...what a sad case. He does not seem to "get" how to make clothes and not costumes. I was glad he got a second chance because he can sew and he has clever ideas...he needs some help with the details that take an outfit over the line to a costume.

I agree with all your comments except that I don't tune in to see Jillian in skimpy outfits - BUT I can't believe the judges let her pass WITHOUT doing the challenge. I mean, that's the whole point of the show - to do the project and put it on the runway. Not only that, she was in the top three. C'mon.

Also, Steven so should have rocked that wedding dress into something. Man, the thing I wanted to see the most and he just gave up. Ugh.
