Guns for everyone, or the NRA sez the 2nd Amendment covers terrorists too

In a stunning announcement earlier this week the NRA, or as they are better known here at Monkey Muck HQ, the National Rightwing Assholes (Association), said that those suspected of terrorism should be allowed to buy guns just like every other person in the country. From the Associated Press:

NRA: Don't Ban Gun Sales to Suspects
WASHINGTON — The National Rifle Association is urging the Bush administration to withdraw its support of a bill that would prohibit suspected terrorists from buying firearms. Backed by the Justice Department, the measure would give the attorney general the discretion to block gun sales, licenses or permits to terror suspects.

In a letter this week to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, NRA executive director Chris Cox said the bill, offered last week by Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., "would allow arbitrary denial of Second Amendment rights based on mere 'suspicions' of a terrorist threat."

Here's a picture of the only two people the NRA does not want to give guns to in the USA.

In just the past few months we have had the shootings at VA Tech, which they said no one should use to advance any political positions whatsoever, more shootings in the Midwest, and all the shooting deaths and injuries that don't make the national news but you hear about every day in your local media, well that is if you don't have a Murdoch media outlet in your area. And what does the NRA say about all this death, destruction, mayhem, and murder that handguns hath wrought?

The solution is more guns!!!! If the students at VA Tech had all been armed then someone would have shot the Korean kid. If those people at the mall in the Midwest had been armed they would have shot the guy who was shooting at them. And now the logic seems to be that the terrorists need guns to protect themselves from the police and from law abiding citizens who are packing heat.

Baby Timmy, how do you feel about the NRA position that even suspected terrorists should be allowed to buy guns?

"Holy shit, I'm only a baby and even I know that's stupid. Those guys at the NRA make me so mad I could cry. Oh poop, I'm crying already."

The NRA are a crafty bunch though. They say all the time that they don't think we need more restrictive gun laws, what we need instead is for the ones on the books now to be enforced. So in order to keep their stranglehold on this country all they have to do is to influence what laws are passed. Their plan is simple yet evilly effective.

How does this make you feel Anonymous College Girl?
'Nuff said.
