Actually, for 1957, the Presbyterians were among the most progressive of the main line Protestant cults. But it's still sad to see that black folks got two out of 130 pages and no white folks were in any pictures with any black folks.
Wow. I just zoomed in and read the text about the "Negro Work" and there's so much there, starting with "Thoughtful men throughout the south"--so it's still all about white guys knowing what's best for "our Negro people." Wow.
