Click on this map from the 1930's to make it bigger and then look at the little drawing they did for Alabama. And then check out the one they did for Mexico. Also, back then they must have hoped that Baja, Mexico was going to become part of the USA.

I love stuff like this. Not the racist stuff, but the step back in time.
Hrm. Yeah, that is definitely something that makes you reconsider the artist!
Arizona's not so nice either. Not to mention Mexico.
Also, look at the world maps school's used when we were kids. The USA is smack in the middle, and Asia is cut in half and placed at either side. Because viewed in it's entirety, it's clear Asia is much larger than the good ole US of A and we can't be having THAT!
Note the Philippines in the lower left corner. I'm always amazed at how many people don't know about the US establishing a colony in the Philippines, and the brutal war that enabled it.
Ugh! Also sickening like the social studies textbook. Sigh.
