In '75 or '76 we got a similar thing from the Democrats, a big brass peanut something-or-other. I doubt either of my parents voted for Carter, despite this wonderful faux legume, that we did indeed use.
Maybe that is why I'm a Dem? I remember it to this day, and my parents have completely forgotten it.

For the record, my parents are now firmly in Democratic hands. Reagan/Bush/xtian nutbags put an end to their political conservatism.
