I recently finished Tokyo Suckerpunch. It's a funny fast paced tale of a wise ass American reporter in Tokyo who gets mixed up with gangsters, religious nutbags, and the strangest geisha girl ever. I love the novels in this series by Isaac Adamson. I had read the second book in this trilogy a few years back, you can read them out of sequence because they all stand alone, and I loved it. I'm now on the hunt for the third book in this funny winning gonzo modern day noir series.
I quite liked this novel by Dennis Lehane. It's about the search for truth and missing people on an island that contains a hospital for the criminally insane. It's twisty and turny and it's got a surprise ending that makes total sense. I wanted to read the book before I saw the film and once I finished the book, I found out they took the film off Netflix. Oh well, the book is very good and it's quite a fast read.
I'm halfway through this super dystopian sci fi thriller and I'm loving it. I'll be searching out more books by Mr. Somers after I finish this one.

I was surprised at how much I liked Shutter Island, the movie. Usually I can tell where a movie is going, but this one really had me guessing. It's worth seeing, but I think knowing the ending would take all of the punch out of it.
Have you read Biggest Elvis?
Don't waste a ton of effort seeking out Shutter Island on video. It' not that good. Like a Twilight Zone episode stretched out to 1:30. Saw the ending coming a mile away.
