I'd buy that for a dollar

An ad from the May 1901 edition of Harper's Monthly Magazine:

That's quite the bargain if you ask me.

I don't know...the language in that ad sounds a lot like those Nigerian email scams. Once they have my calling card and my dollar, who knows what they'll do with it. A year's supply of toilet paper - in rolls - sounds as far-fetched as an heir to a six billion dollar fortune.

I'm sending in my calling card and dollar this afternoon! Looking forward to a year of happy pooping.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to see the free sample first, and need to read "Truth About Toilet Paper."

Hmmm... obviously an early scam. I bet if you sent away for it you received the end of a roll with twelve squares, each labeled with a different month.

Kind of wondering how 'rough' that bargain TP might be on my toosh...
Also, wonder what the A.P.W. stands for...'all purpose wipe'??

Oh, yes! Back that truck up to the back door and start unloading boys! I might be thrifty in some ways, but when it comes to toilet paper, well, I just use what I want.

They're DAMN RIGHT I appreciate QUALITY in my toilet paper!

Anyone know if they accept credit cards? I'd prefer to pay with my AmEx because on the off chance my year's supply of toilet paper doesn't arrive timely or it doesn't live up to my expectations for quality toilet paper, I want to know I've got the power of AmEx behind me to get my money back.
