Wii've only just begun

I've had my Wii now for about a week and I'm totally in geek love with it.

I had nothing against X-Box and I'd still be playing games on it if the used one I had hadn't conked out on me. I was perfectly happy playing EA Sports MLB 2005, Outlaw Golf 2, World Soccer Winning Eleven 8, and EA Sports NHL 2007 on it. But it did indeed conk out right around the time when we moved into our current house. So I marched off and bought the lowest rung X Box 360 and I hated it. Games took forever to load on it and the damn thing seemed to be to be an exercise in ego for Bill Gates. Sure the graphics were lifelike but honestly, I don't play video games for realistic graphics. If I want real life I'll turn the games off.

So I resigned myself to playing Crap Box 360 games only when extremely bored or if the internet was down. Then something magical happened. During the holidays my friend Keith called and said his son Quinn wanted to cook us supper. We willingly went and the kid did a great job. After supper they showed us their new Wii game system and I was impressed with it. Then our friends Bob and Donna got one and they raved about how much fun it was. That was all I needed to hear. I decided to trade in my Shit Box 360 on a new Wii.

But then I found out Nintendo had created a shortage of their popular game system to drive demand up. However my friend Donna got word to me that a store in town had a few and I snapped one up. And I've spent more time in one week playing games on it than I did on my old system in the past year.

I love the Wii Sports game that comes with the unit. I'm addicted to the bowling and the golf. I bought a few other games but neither of them thrilled me so I traded them in and bought this:
Oh hells yeah. I'm loving this game. It's everything I want in a video game. It's sports related, it's got cartoony characters and action, and it's fun and challenging to play. I'm a huge fan of sports related games and the Olympics so this game is tailor made for me.

The biggest reason I love my Wii is because you have to get up and move to play it. You do the sports motions and you get your blood flowing and your heart rate up. It beats just sitting there and pressing buttons on games that have great graphics but are boring as hell to play. One of these days I'll spring for the Wii balance board which will mean I can play other games that make you move even more but for now, I'm happy as a pig in shit with my Wii. And I've even gotten Sparky to play it a time or two. If I get her hooked it'll be even better.

Microsoft can suck it, I'm a Nintendo Wii junkie for life from now on.

My son just did his 4th grade science project on "Wii games: Are they a form of exercise?"

He tested tennis, boxing, and Shaun White Snowboarding. Boxing actually got his heart rate into the zone.

The S.W. Snowboarding is lots of fun, Mario Kart is pretty good, too.

I think my kids love it, too. I like it, and I think I will love it if we ever get the new Super Mario Bros. game. Looks like flashback fun!

I am so in love with my Wii right now. We're getting a lot of rain here, so getting up and playing Wii Sports every day takes the place of walking, and it's been pretty intense, especially the boxing.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is near the top of a list of games I want to get.

Love Sports and Fit. Dr M - you will love the Fit and board. Snowboarding, biking, and skateboarding are all v. cool and I like the yoga. I just need to be better about setting aside time to do it - it's just that the Fit is so damn judgey - like it knows everything about my lazy ass. Last time it asked me if I had been snacking late at night - jerkass. And yes, I have.

I find it odd, though, that I was instantly super awesome at Wii bowling, while IRL I am more likely to cannonball an observer than to hit a single pin.

Can't wait for Wii Bar Brawl and Wii Knitting.

I like FIT - for the games, not so much the excercises because they kind of suck, I hear the new version is better...I may get that.

I love my NEW game Just Dance...so totally fun for all!!!

My sons LOVE that game. We don't have the Wii, but my SIL does and they play it at her house. They love any kind of Mario game but especially on the Wii.
