Dear President Obama,
Don't go on TV later tonight and tell us you're going to commit more troops and money in that rathole we know as Afghanistan. It's not what we, the American, people want. It's not what we elected you to do. We elected you to be different than the lawless war loving murderous thugs who ran the White House before we put you in office. We elected you so that you can end these financial boondoggles we've come to know as the wars of terror on Iraq and Afghanistan. Seriously man, don't commit one more life to the occupation of Afghanistan.
You've backtracked on most every campaign promise you made us and if you don't end our involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq, then we'll end our involvement with you. Yes, you've done a few good things but by and large you've merely continued the failed policies of the Bush/Cheney years and that is unacceptable. You promised us change and hope and so far all you've given us is more of the same corporate loving bullshit. We put the Republicans out because we wanted change, if you and the other Democrats don't follow through and start changing things then we'll put you out as well. I'd like to remind you that Republicans can win elections without the youth vote, the gay vote, and the black and Latino vote but you can't. You need us. If you don't stop acting like a Republican and a dyed in the wool corporate Democrat who is committed to the status quo then we're going to put you out of office. Let the drubbing of Creigh Deeds be an example to you and remember that Democrats win when they stay true to core party and progressive principles.
Heed my words and start to run your administration accordingly.

I hope he listens. Please listen, Obama!
Mr. President, I know that I am just an ordinary eater of yellow snow living above your Northern border and I don't have any dog in this fight but I ask you to listen to the words of the eminent Dr Monkey. First of all he did graduate from medical school AS A MONKEY and he speaks from the heart. If not for your own people then for all the rest of us. We need you to give us some hope that the ideas you campaigned on were more meaningful than the world the cheats and theives and liars have created. If not you, who? If not now, when?
I hope he does have some changes coming. He has had a lot to deal with this past year, but eventually, we need to see something happening!
I agree!
Well said, Dr. M. I'm very disappointed about this. I'll certainly listen to what he says tonight, but I can't really think of anything he might say that will convince me that 35,000 additional troops in Afghanistan is the right thing to do.
Like Wings said, he's got quite a shit heap to clean up and that's not his fault. But I'm so disappointed in what a corporation-lover he turned out to be. Maybe we should send him a dictionary so he can look up "CHANGE".
Well said Monkey...if only he would take heed of your wise words.
I make no pretensions about knowing why he might be avoiding his promises...I do think he is trying to please everyone, and well, that certainly won't work, especially when dealing with the party of 'my way or the highway'.
I'm also a person living north of the border...but I so hope for 'hope' in your good country.
