I bought a baggie full of someone's old photos at an antique store today, it had a $5 price tag on it but I offered the guy $2 and he took it. Here's a smattering of what was in that little baggie:
I feckin' love photos like these. They're little pieces of a history we didn't know we shared.

I friggen love that type of shit. It makes me feel sad sometimes though...as if it's a piece missing from someone...Anywho, I love love love old photos. I found an old ass tin of some relative from the civil war, coolest shit EVA!

I was completely and totally obsessed with vintage photos when I was pregnant with Max. I would get giant bags and categorize them and try to date them. I put them all in acid free photo boxes and put them away.
I picked up a framed black and white photo of a soldier, probably from WWII. It makes me sad and happy and grateful all at once.
It is sad that these photos are lost to the families from which they came, but I'm happy they have found a new and loving home with you. Mother Theresa of Orphaned Photos, you are!
What always flashes through my mind when I see old photos like this is, "I wonder how their life turned out?" A flash of a moment in time like this gives me a weird feeling in my stomach.
