Pop Culture Friday

This weeks pop culture question over at the Onion AV Club Blog is:

"What part of pop culture makes you proudest to be an American?"

For me it's our humor websites like The Onion and comedy programs like The Daily Show (although John Stewart is getting on my nerves lately) and The Colbert Report. Outlets like these shows and websites are like our modern day court jesters who mock and make light of the idiots in power. They also make fun of our every day foibles and our lifestyles. And most of the time they are dead on like in this clip from the Onion News Network:

New Wearable Feedbags Let Americans Eat More, Move Less

Ahhh, sarcastic humor, how I love you.

I don't think the Onion likes Canadians commenting on American pop culture, as I can't play the video. I can take a hint, Onion!

This is why I'm a writer, not an actor. I couldn't keep a straight face.
