- Judah Mutton Chop Trucker Hat is the reason I don't watch 30 Rock and he was the worst thing about this latest pop culture show on VH1. I'm all for geeks getting work but that dude is just repulsive (said the fat doughy bastard).
- If it wasn't for show like this then a legion of grade Z comedians and 'celebrities' would not get regular work.
- Was there no one hit wonder of the 1980's that Frank Stallone didn't love?
- Frank Stallone? Really?
- The reason many of those songs became hits was because their videos were well done or eye catching and because they ran incessantly on MTV. Those days are gone now that MTV doesn't show videos anymore. Well except for a 35 minute block of new music on MTV Estonia that airs at 3 AM on alternate Tuesdays in months that have a 'Y' in them.
- Lauren Weed, mmmmmmmmmmmm.
- But Frank Stallone? Seriously? Was Michael Ian Black busy?
- The lead singer of Flock of Seagulls is a pretty ungrateful bastard. Hey numbnuts, if it wasn't for you're one fucking hit no one would remember you.
- The guy from Timbuk 3 did not age well at all.
- The gal from Pretty Poison on the other hand has aged incredibly well. Hubba hubba.

I never understood the whole Michael Ian Black thing. Does that come across as an a-hole or what? The only one worse is Hal Sparks. He's even more annoying than that whiny character he played on "Queer as Folk."
Gosh, you've got a blog over HERE too.
Now I'll never get any work done.
I guess the fact that I have heard of exactly two of these bands/people ties in with the theme.
Wow. I never considered 找阿囉哈, but that's a great point!
So, did they re-do the commentary on this one-hit wonders show? Isn't this an old show? Or are they just rehashing it? I know they've been re-airing The Top 100 Songs of the '80s quite a bit lately.
Sorry Beckeye, I deleted that Asian spammers comment so your comment doesn't make much sense anymore.
Also Beckeye, this one hit wonders show was about the one hit wonders of the '80's, not one hit wonders of all time. That one was hosted by Shatner.
The "Guy from Timbuk 3" now lives in Fish Creek, WI. He's a pretty good guy, despite his aging well or not.
Re:#9, drugs and alcohol will do that to you. One of Ed's and my first dates was to hear his band pre-Timbuk 3, Pat McDonald and the Essentials, I loved them. Oh yeah, and we did our wash at the same divey laundromat. And then he moved to Austin with stars in his eyes. I guess Ed already commented that he lives in WI (again). He runs a music festival, owns a hotel where he can house participants in his music festival, and Ed will tell you the rest.
Oops, I guess he lives in Sturgeon Bay, but he owns a bar/music club in Fish Creek. I've played there. He also plays in Madison with some regularity. Rumor has it he refused to sell the rights to his hit "The Future's So Bright..." to some big corporation that was offering him mega-bucks for it. Don't know if that's true, though.
Wow! it's like we watched it together!!!!
I love those awful vh1 video shows. And you're right they find the worst celebrities. I HATE Michael Ian Black he's like the UNFUNNIEST mother ever.
I watched that Friday with my stepdaughter-- she's become a big fan of the eighties.
I ran into the singer for Flock Of Seagulls at a club in Chicago one night about 17 or 18 years ago (the band had played at the rock club upstairs that night). He's a teeny-tiny little guy, which may explain a lot. Axl Rose tried to pick a fight with me in the same joint a couple of years before that. He's also a teeny tiny little guy-- and a bona fide nutjob.
I am sorry I missed it, but
Frank Sallone? Seriously?
and I hate that guy with the trucker hat too.
Hi, Dr!
Right now, at this very moment, Suzy and I are sitting in "That Guy From Timbuk3's" bar/restaurant in Fish Creek, WI. Suzy says "hi, from the frozen north" (and it is, indeed frozen.) "That Guy" says hello, too. Just kidding; he doesn't seem to be here right now.
