Six degrees of Facebook separation

There's this thing going around on Facebook called 'The Six Degrees of Facebook Separation.' The people who came up with the idea want to see if all the people on Facebook can be connected to someone else in six degrees or less. Their first test is to see how few degrees it takes someone to link themselves to Brad Pitt.

Well kids, don't be jealous but I am one degree away from Brad Pitt. You see I was in the film 'Box of Moonlight' which was directed by Tom DiCillo, who is a very nice guy by the way and I say that because he always made time to chat with us extras and to make sure that we all got something to eat during meal breaks.

Dicillo also directed a film called 'Johnny Suede' which starred a young Brad Pitt. That's right bitches, I'm practically show biz royalty and so are you because if you are my Facebook friend then you are two degrees from Brad Pitt.

Did someone send you an annoying invite to that group today? ;)

I am so thrilled to be only two degrees away from Brad Pitt. I only hope I don't get pregnant.

You, dear friend can count yourself two-degrees separated from K.D. Lang and Jonathon Demme. They both went through my check-out line when I worked at a swank grocery store in Philly.

Oh, and I saw the lead singer of Spoon at the pharmacy the other day.

Did you have a speaking role? If so, what was your character.

Oh yeah. And I used to do Stand up with Paul F Tompkins. Paul's on the Sarah Silverman Program. Sarah used to be on SNL. And Brad Pitt was on SNL.

I have a degree in economics. Does that make me connected in any way to Henry Paulson? PLEASE SAY NO!

Actually, Dr. Monkey, you are two degrees away from Mr. Pitt. You are one degree away from Mr. DiCillo and zero degrees away from yourself.

The most famous person I am two degrees away from is Pope John Paul II.

It's almost enough to make me break my own rule of leave the damn thing for the poor kids and join facebook. But not quite.

I know Tommy Lee Jones's ex wife, and I'm pretty sure TL and Brad Pitt have been at the Academy Awards at the same time, so move over, baby.

My niece talked me into signing up for Facebook this past Monday. My sensibilities have talked me into deactivating my Facebook account today. I don't care how few or how many degrees there are between me and BP, I am just dog digging it!

Ha! I'm equal to you, Dr. Monkey. My good friend Merrilee was the accountant on "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and got to be pally with Brad Pitt; in fact, they were short an actress and had her play a small part with one line in the movie (sadly I haven't seen it yet). So, I'm one away from him. I think there are probably more connections, so many of my pals AND 1 sister being hollywood actors but that's the one I know for sure!

OH I guess 2 degrees from Pitt, sorry.

Even the lovely Mr Jolie couldn't persuade me to join Facebook. Sometimes being a recluse is hard work.

I am ONE degree from Kevin Bacon, which means I am connected to EVERYBODY in the entire world!

My husband went to the same college as Brad Pitt, so that's 3 degrees. I've seen Billy Bob Thornton in concert. That's probably 3 degrees.

I just joined Facebook, but I'm not sure why yet.

While your at it, can you send me a Sea Garden request, a top friend invite, and an "owned" invite?

Thank god for the "ignore request" button....I just wish I could set it for auto.

I think I may be the only person who kinda liked "Johnny Suede." I especially liked the song "Midtown" as sung by Pitt.

NO SHIT?! You were "off the grid?!" Cool, that was such a good film!

Between "Living In Oblivion" and "Box," I had such high hopes for DiCillo.

Dguz-I liked Johnny Suede as well.

Dr. Zobbs-I read for a speaking part but did not get one. I am in the first few minutes of the film, I played one of the construction workers who gets fired by John Turturro.

The most famous person I am two degrees away from is Mikhail Gorbachev - I also went to high school with a girl who married the drummer from the Dave Matthews Band - AND I introduced Three Dog Night, the Turtles and Jan & Dean when I was a dj in the late 90's in Indy - live shows the station put on. I also got felt up by Barry Williams, aka Greg Brady, and bear-hugged by Peter Tork. The most FUN old celebrities I ever met were Dawn Wells - Marianne from Giligan's Island & Dick Clark. I got to interview Dick two days before New Year's Eve 1999 on the radio. He was SUPER nice.

Wow. I am bragging today! Forgive me please!

I'm 2 degrees separated from ... Liberace! My mom went to high school with him. (He wasn't gay then, either.)

Liberace was gay?
