That's Sparky's dad when he was in the army during World War 2. He was stationed in the Philippines. There is no truth to the rumor that the monkey on his back is related to me in any way.
He looks so young! That really is a great photo. My father-in-law was stationed in the Philippines toward the end of WWII, too. I think there are only a couple of pix of him at that time.

This photo is amazing. I love hot guys who fight for world freedom! Esp. when they wear those cute hats. What was he doing with a monkey???
Hot monkey love obviously runs in the family
Great picture.
Fantastic picture. Thanks for sharing it!
Poor Sparky never stood a chance, monkey infatuation running deep in her bloodline.
That is an incredible shot. Thanks for sharing it.
Monkey, do you think we're going to buy that? Come ON!
:D
We know you are directly connected with that monkey.
I don't know about that Dr. M. That monkey has your ears. It could be a long-lost relative.

My dad was station there during part of WWII, too.
That is NOT you? hey, I blogrolled you again, sorry for the delay. Adding stuff day by day.
He looks so young. Nice photo.
This is a classic picture. Unmistakable as to time and place.
Nothing like a man in uniform, esp. if he's only wearing half of it. And what's not to like about a man who loves monkeys (and is loved by monkeys)?
WHOA! My Grandfather has a very similar photo with a monkey in the Philippines during the war. It is one of the greatest things I have ever seen.
My Grandfather worked with photography, mainly photos taken from planes.
Beautiful picture. I have some like it of my uncle in the Marines in WW2 in the south Pacific.
Fine monkey, too.
Is that baby george bush on his shoulder? Who knew that little creature would be President of the United States one day?
