I've had a troll problem over on Monkey Scan and I finally figured out who was leaving me asinine and snotty comments, it's a seriously deranged woman from Canada that has been trying to make life hard for my blog friend Wandering Coyote. This creature's name is Grace.
I first encountered her when she started plaguing WC's blog with hurtful comments. WC has been courageously sharing about her mental illness on her blogs and this Grace person saw fit to make fun not only of WC's mental state but also her appearance. WC took the high road and deleted her childish and hurtful comments and took to comment moderation on her blog. So this small woman Grace decides that she doesn't like WC not leaving her comments up so she starts a her own blog, which she has since deleted. On her fleeting blog she took more digs at WC and all those of us who defended her and who call her friend. Well, it turned out that having her own soapbox to carp about WC and all the other people she felt like were drains on Canada's health care system was not enough so she began emailing WC hateful missives.
But soon enough Grace from Canada decided that she wanted to expand her little world of hatefulness and she began leaving comments on Monkey Scan. She slipped one in anonymously before I changed it to where no anonymous people can leave comments anymore and then she left one under own name on my post where I put up the scanned pictures of the Beauty Queens of ETSU from 1956. Her comment, which I deleted, read something like this: "Oh Dr. Monkey you must be a faggoty gay boy since you like to put up pictures of girls in pretty dresses. Do you wear them too?"
Wow, stunning huh. She e stalks a woman having mental problems and then she leaves comments on my blog accusing me of being gay. Oh she knows how to hurt all right. I'll cry myself to sleep over this one for sure. Boo hoo, the mean sad lonely bully lady called me gay. Boo hoo.
I sent her an email telling her that I was proud to have been called gay. After all, look at what all gay people have done for our culture and our society in general. What I should have told her was that I wasn't gay but my boyfriend was. There was a time when someone calling me gay would have hurt me but those days have long passed and unlike her I've grown up, evolved, and I not only know who I am, I am comfortable with myself.
Since my heart attack a few years back I don't suffer fools or assholes gladly anymore so listen up Canada Grace, you're nothing but a low life lonely sad little bully. And your behavior leads me to believe you're not a Canadian at all, you're probably some maladjusted Washingtonian or South Dakotan. You need to grow up and learn to play nice with other people or stay the fuck away from them.

Thanks Dr. M! I appreciate your support in this, but am sorry this person has decided to plague you now. As long as she is completely ingnored, I think she'll slink away. Well, I HOPE she'll slink away. I've been warning some of my other blog friends, too.

She probably has some serious mental health issues of her own - she's more to be pitied than censored as the old song goes. Let's all make a pact to just ignore and delete, ignore and delete.
Cyber bullying is a perfect venue for the cowardly. You don't even have to look your victim in the eye.
Good for you, Monkey and Coyote, for not allowing yourselves to be victimized by this coward.
And much as we would like to pass Grace off as being American, trust me, we have our fair share of assholes up here too.
She is definitely Canadian, as her IP address is in Surrey. She also, funnily enough, claims to be a psychiatric nurse!

Barbara's absolutely right about cyber bullying being easy. Nicely done, Dr. Monkey. I've had to put up with this kind of garbage in the past. I thought I'd never delete anyone's comments on my blog, and then someone who was a friend of a friend of Becca's started attacking me with specific information, and delete went the comments.

Well, there's nothing that says Canada doesn't have its share of crazies, nasties and scaries.We usually tie them to ice-floes and send them up the Hudson, but we must have missed one. I hang my head in shame. Grace, if you can read this, please turn yourself in.

Grace, it's not to late to change. Let go of the hate. It makes life so much more pleasant.
Another way to look at it might be that, if you're attracting cyber-bullies, there must be something powerful in what you have to say, or they would go bother someone else. Take it as a compliment.
All-I'm deleting any comment Grace has the gall to put on here. She'll scream "Censorship!" But if she does then she'll be wrong yet again. She can write anything she likes about me or anyone else on her blog. I'm not going to give her any kind of platform on mine and I'll do no more posts about her. Once you confront a bully and call them out, you need to then ignore them and they'll go away because there's always someone else to bully, a fly to pull the wings off of, and a small child that needs frightening.
It sounds like she is probably suffering from some type of mental illness-to go after someone like this is a maybe a little too much for the usual troll who just disagrees with someone. You are right to ignore and delete-she'll soon tire of not getting any notice for her stupid actions!

Hey, Monkey - nice work. Yes, I'm pretty certain Grace is mentalli ill, and perhaps has been dealt with badly by the health-care system in CA. Delete and move on is the best policy.
It's also great to see you stand up for gays with your response. "I bet you're gay" shouldn't be considered an insult any more than "I bet you wear socks". Now, "I bet you wear white socks with black shoes and shorts" should be taken as an inult, but that's beside the point.
