I was wondering something. Some Hillary supporters cry that Sen. Obama isn't connecting with "working class" folks. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that most of the folks in this photo look working class to me.But there's just too many people in this photo from Sen. Obama's recent Oregon trip for me to tell who is and who isn't "working class." But I can tell one thing from the picture, it looks like most of that crowd is white and they look pretty damn excited and energized about a black man becoming President of this country.
Somehow I doubt that everyone in that crowd is an elitist who is only voting for Obama because they hate women.

It doesn't have to be true.
It just has to become a slogan.
Flip flopper.
Looks like a few Native Americans in that first photo.
Definitely elitist. We all know how they've become the priviledged class and run about everything. Pine Ridge Reservation comes to mind.
Excellent photo detective work, Dr. M. I'm just amazed at the lies and exaggerations that people are throwing around. It's worse than a class of 2nd graders. I was the recipient of that hateful "Obama is muslim" chain e-mail.
I forgot to add that I really enjoyed your post about Hitchok-ian women. I also loved Rob and Laura's motel room. I think I stayed there too in 1963.
I'm so bummed I missed that rally. I could've been in that picture!
You know, I keep forgetting that Obama is black and Clinton is a woman. I just want that damn warmonger out of office.
maybe they're elitists who are voting for obama because he's an exponentially better speaker, politician and - oh - candidate.
maybe that's what makes them elistist. using their brains.
I read that he was the first presidential candidate to visit the Crow tribe. That's pretty pathetic on the part of our pols in the past.
Also he's got a cool new name, Barack Black Eagle, and a much longer name, Awe Kooda bilaxpak Kuuxshish, which means "one who helps people throughout the land."
I wonder what Dubya's native American name would be? How about Clinton and McCain?
The first picture was taken in Montana yesterday at the Crow nation and they gave him the Crow name, Barack Black Eagle. Totally cool!
Someone might want to tell Hillary that prior to getting into politics, Obama was a working class guy. Wonder if she has read his first book?
On my local news this morning, they juxtaposed the massive crowd Obama drew with people in a hotel conference room listening to McCain speak. Why do I keep hearing McCain is the frontrunner when he's not drawing a tenth of the crowd?
That second picture is just one of the many reasons why I love Oregon.
Heard what he and the blonde had to say about Sen. Kennedy's illness. Didn't really like either, but Obama's take was more Kennedy like, even if it did come off as slick. Of the two, I like him better.
Monkey, its the damn Hlllaryites and McCain sabateours (sp?) that are inserting that into the dialogue about this race I believe. Obama connects with the working class quite well, and I think these "naysayers" are just trying to cut that down a notch.
According to Hilary, there are all elitists or Misogynists. **sigh**
Ooh, is see 3 elitists up in the left hand corner.
And Waldo.
I'm pretty sure the woman haters are voting for McCain.
Hillary calling Obama an "elitist" is really a case of the pot calling the kettle black. I suspect that she has had a more privileged life, and rubbed elbows with many fewer "working class" folks than Obama has. But that's really beside the point. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT WHO IS MORE CAPABLE OF ASSUMING ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT JOBS IN THE WORLD! That means being intelligent, articulate, well-educated, quick-thinking, strong, resilient and capable of unifying the nation (and many other features, of course). It does NOT MEAN being a good ol' boy you can sit down and have a beer with, while you bitch and moan about how unfair life is. Obama pulled himself up by his bootstraps (sorry, I love cliches), and, if anything, that should be an inspiration to people on the lower rungs of the social ladder.
I'm "voting for Obama because (I) hate" liars and hypocrites. And also because he seems to possess most of the attributes I listed above.
