Happy Mother's day to all you mothers out there and especially to my late mom Norma Kathleen Wells Denton. She was a great woman who's time on this planet was far too short.
If you and your mother get along and you are seeing her today, give her a hug and tell her you love her because you never know when you'll lose her.

Thanks for your good wishes. I always do what the doctor say, so, I'll do exactly that ;)
I sent my mother flowers. I thought about the money I was spending, since money is tight since I went back to school, but in the end, as you pointed out, there'll be a day someday where I won't be able to send her flowers on Mother's Day.
So true Monkey. Mine has been gone 10 years but it feels like 100.
Sage words, I'll go call now
You are a sweetie even if I don't agree with you all the time. However, this time I could not agree more and I have spent the day with my Mother and hugged her lots.
You're such a sweet little monkey.
Done and done!
My husband's family does not hug. My family hugs on a very respectable Minnesotan level (not too long, not too short, not too often).
I asked my husband yesterday if his whole family is anti-hugs or if it is just his bro and his dad. My husband said he thinks his Mom would like hugs, but she probably is worried he would hate being hugged.
I said, "Honey, you are not anti-hugs." He said "I know."
I told him next time he should try to casually offer a hug to his Mom. I told him just what you said, we never know how many more hugs we will be able to get in!
He liked that plan.
so true... that's a wonderful pic of your mom! i think we all have one like it. must have been the thing to do back in the 50s, huh.
