Happy List

I've been very conscious lately of how negative I am on this blog and I'm trying not to let the negativity take me over. So I've been trying to balance out my angry political posts with the odd joke, the stupid one liner, and other stuff. I don't want to drive anyone way because I'm constantly harping on the idiots in Washington DC who make so many people's lives miserable.

So after a few negative posts today and a re-appearance of the angry monkey I thought it prudent that I post about some things that make me happy.
My digital camera makes me happy. I got it for around $70 bucks tax included. How great are digital cameras? No longer are we hostage to the damn film companies, no longer do they pollute our planet with all those chemicals that they used in the developing process, and no longer do I have to pay asswipes like Wal-Mart to print my photos. I get to take all kinds of photos most anywhere with my trusty lil M425 from HP.

This old IRS CD sampler makes me happy. I got it a month and a half ago and it's got Concrete Blonde, Sahotas, Single Gun Theory, Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine, Over the Rhine, The Point, and many other great groups and artists on it. I got it at Mr. K's which is a local used book and CD store. Mr. K's makes me happy too.

I'm happy my NFL team is 2 and 0. Undefeated baby. Superbowl here we come! (Yeah right.)

This ceramic fish makes me happy. We bought it years ago at a place called Dixie Pottery in Abingdon, VA and we've hung it different places in our condo, now it hangs over our stove.

I'm happy it's almost fall and the leaves will soon change color. It's a riot of different colors around here in the fall and the mountains look soooooo cool bathed in the oranges, reds, and yellows. I love fall because of the leaves, the new TV shows, football, both college and pro, the baseball playoffs, and because the oppressive heat and humidity stop for a few months. Yay fall!

You people make me happy too. You, my fellow bloggers on my blog roll. You amaze me, amuse me, and I love reading your posts everyday. Although I'm grateful that none of you blog as much as I do, Samurai Frog used to come close but he's slacked off since he got work, because if you all did blog as much as I do then I'd never do anything but write my blog and read yours all day and night long. But like the poster says, "Keep on Blogging!"

I'm happy that Becca photoshopped this picture of Bettie Page with little Monkey Von Monkerstein. How cool would it be to have the most iconic pin up of all time be your Mom? It makes me happy that Becca spent a few minutes thinking of me and that she used that time to make this great picture. And damn, am I working that little dress thingy or what? The shoes not so much but hells yes on the dress.

Catherine Keener makes me happy too. She around my age, mid 40's and she still is in demand in Hollywood. She looks great and is a great actress as well. She's been in two of my favorite recent movies, Being John Malkovich and The 40 Year Old Virgin. She is also in Box of Moonlight, the film I was an extra in, sadly though I didn't get to meet her, and the scene where she has "phone sex" with John Turturro is laugh out loud funny.

Also making me happy is the free HBO and Cinemax we're getting on our digital cable and of course you make me happy too Sparky.

Holy crap, I blink and you've got dozen hilarious and/or pithy new posts. What kind of giganto brain are you hiding under that fez?

You are wonderfully prolific aren't you? I like your "happy list" idea. I think I'm going to steal it and use it later this week.

I like your taste in blogs and I like the women actresses you highlight as well. I think your autumn will probably be better than ours because TN is such a pretty state for starters. I like that southern accent too. I had a friend from Tennessee when my hubby was in the Navy. She was always so much fun to be around and in no time flat I had her accent down pat. I lived in Texas at one time so have some southern roots. Anyway, keep on blogging man, I enjoy reading your posts!

Becca's picture of you is sheer genius. I remember when she first posted that, I had to laugh out loud! You were very cute as a baby.

Catherine keener is my husband's freebie celebrity, if he ever gets the chance and Ms. Keener is interested. Damn, my Mr. has good taste in women- I think I have a nonsexual girl crush on her too.

Oh, and you look so cute with your mom. Your mom was hot.

Kirby-Sometimes my huge brain is a curse.

Bubs-Steal away my friend.

Liberality-I shall keep blogging and knowing that people I like are enjoying my blog makes it all the sweeter for me.

Boxer-It could be worse, I could be a Steelers fan.

Dr. Z-I was super cute as a baby wasn't I?

Whiskey-Your hubby has great taste in women.

Notsoccermom-Will do.

Dguzman-It's okay, I still like you despite the Cowboys thing.

Vikki-You and 10 other people liked Box. I didn't get to meet Sam but I did work with Turturro, he's an odd bird. Tom DeCillio is a mensch, he made sure us extras all had food at meal times and he took time out to speak to us and he treated everyone with respect. I'd take a bullet for Tom.
