Another true cardiac recovery tale

Not long after my heart attack and my quadruple bypass my girlfriend and I were in a local bookstore. She stopped to peruse some book that fascinated her and I walked back to the back of the store to peruse the magazines. I was leafing through one when she came upon me. She said, "I was reading in one of those books back there that sometimes men's personalities change quite a bit after they have bypass surgery. Some women say that their husbands became almost completely different people." She looked at me to see how I would react.

I got a wild look in my eyes and in an indignant tone of voice I said, "That is the craziest thing I have ever heard Patty!" (My gf's name is not Patty and we do not have any kids.) I huffed and looked to my left and I saw a little girl walking a ways behind her mother. "I've had quite enough of your crazy talk Patty, now grab our daughter little Susie and lets go home!" My gf started laughing and the little girl looked up at me with a "who is this crazy fat guy talking to" look on her face. I started laughing along with my gf and as the little girl ran after her mother she looked back and stuck her tongue out at me.

That little girl sounds like some little girls I've raised.

I'll be she'll think twice before dawdling behind her mother again soon!
