I absolutely did think he was dead. I also can't imagine how old he must have looked since he looked ancient back in the 60s.

Can't be...he's gotta be dead. I mean I was a young man when he was popular. Somebody is propping him up and pretending.
Yeah, well, he was dead to me long ago for such transgressions as "Mama Will Bark".So now it's official.
He was 99, so you can't blame us for thinking he might already be dead.
